Need Ideas for FH's 25th Bday!!!!!!

Original post by FuTuRe MrS MaZz

So I am struggling with what to plan for FH's big bday! His best friend suggested planning some extravagant min-vacation. I refuse to take a plane anywhere b/c its soo last minute and I dont have the $$ to do all that... Then he suggested Montreal, AC, Foxwoods... something along those lines... Anyone have any brilliant ideas?? I need to plan something quick (it would most likely be the weekend of oct 12-14)... I need to make sure I give his friends plenty of notice so I can get everyone to come....

TIA Gurls!

i also suggest A/C, is that columbus day weekend the 12th to 14th? otherwise maybe not bc they might charge more. Fox woods, mohegan sun. OR maybe dinner and a club in the city.

I don't get it....you are gonna shut your mouth about what?

I think the comment came off wrong, made it sound like she doesn't care about her friends and what they're spending and hasnt taken them into consideration. We don't know her situation or her friends, MANY times the girls are the ones to suggest going away bc they see it as an opportunity to get all the girls together for a big trip. My friends and alot of ppl i know plans trips every year to south beach, vegas and other places and do several a year, so for them it would just be one of the big trips they have planned for that year. I have some friends that go away every few months, i wish i could but cant bc of work. Even with FH, his friends were the ones who mentioned going away to him, he didnt say anything, but they all said hey were going to vegas, they've all been there like 5-6 times and have gone every year the past few years so they don't care.

Going away for you Bachelor/bachelorette party is becoming VERY common

Spinoff to the Montauk idea... last year we went up to Lake George for a weekend with my sister and her husband. It was so much fun. You can rent a cottage with a few bedrooms. Its great because it's like a lazy weekend, campfires and maybe the occasional hike. Wish we could do it again!

As far as a lot of people going away for Bachelorette Parties....It is so not necessary. Not everyone has an endless supply of money to throw out for MY wedding. I realize this and I hope they see that.

Lake George is amazing... last year after we went for a while I thought I had missed my life's calling and I should quit my job and open my own cabin rental place up there. But oh yeah, I forgot one small piece... I'm a teacher with no money!

Its your own preference and thats fine. If someone cant come, then thats okay... I'll make sure to do a bar one night with them or something instead...

If you guys like clubs, i would say dinner and a club..or dinner and drinks at a bar or lounge.
AC, mohegan sun, foxwoods is always an option as well

Nobody said its necessary i dont think i said that once. BUT my point was that alot of times the bridal party is the one who DECIDES this, my friend is the MOH for her friend, she didnt suggest anything and guess what theyre going away, her bridal party picked to do this without input from the bride. My point is the bp wants this alot of times and its their decision. I mean you can do what you want but again its not your decision like you said earlier, its your bp so not up to us...For my friends wedding next year i hope we go away somewhere for her Bachelorette party, i want to go. Or this past april one of my closest friends was a bridesmaid for her cousin and you know what the bride had NOOO idea they were going away for her bachelorette party, infact they packed her bags for her and surprised her, they even took off of work for her, it was a total surprise and want the bridal party wanted to do. To each their own

If the bridal party decides on a destination party then it was by their choice only and they obviously dont have a problem with it. Like i said most ppl i know plan big trips every year with their friends regardless, in the past year alone my friends have gone on about 3-4 trips together and i couldn't bc of my job. And NOBODY is obligated to go if they can't, many ppl who go away also do something local

Re: Need Ideas for FH's 25th Bday!!!!!!

I love all the ideas... but I am so partial to Foxwoods. You can stay at the Two Tree Inn (which is a foxwood property) and they have a free continuous shuttle that picks you up and drops you off at the door. The hotel is half the price of the main building. Also, i feel like foxwoods is so much more open and airy then mohegan. Mohegan is always over crowded!!!

Since when do 25th birthdays require so much work LOL??? I thought it was all about 21 and 30. Save your money and a great idea for his 30th!!

one thing about mohegan to keep in mind is that they have no hold em poker there, not sure if it matters or not but i know that is what would keep my FH from not going lol
