Ok...so we are going out of state this weekend to look at vendors for the wedding. We are looking at 2 florists while we are down there. I really haven't totally decided yet what I want to do for centerpieces. I was thinking candles. Anyway, my question is...do I have to get prices now for possible flower centerpieces, or can I add them on later on when I have a better idea?

Re: Need info on flowers..
Why would you waste time visiting florists if you have no idea what you want to do for CP's ? Just to do the bo-k's and bouts ?
Florists need a firm idea when you book them of what you need them to do the day of your wedding because they need to figure out the TIME needed to get everything done.

We are going to get pricing so we have an idea of what it will cost us. We are not booking with anyone right away. We are planning the wedding from out of state, so when we have a chance to get down there we try to do as much as we can while we are there. I don't see it as a waste of time.

Burtons goes by piece not by flower - so check them out - but u really need some idea to get the most out of any appointment with a florist - as their first q to you is what do u want?

Come June whatever I don't get done will need to be done out of state - I feel your pain - I would go with Burton's too... I have heard so many great things about them - very affordable.

I say try Burton's as well. You should have some sort of idea of what you want when you go. As for CP's, if you want candles, I would DIY. WE had Hurricane vases with pillar candles in them, and I think that Burtons wanted another $900 for 10 of them. We went to ACMoore and bought the vases on sale and BBB for the candles. So much cheaper!!! Good luck!

I think as long as you have ideas for what you are looking for in centerpieces, you can get some quotes. we didn't have a firm idea when we first met with our florist either. it's definitely helpful if you bring pictures with you of the types of things you like so that you are both on the same page.

Is Burton's here in NY? Will they deliver out of state?
