Ok so i have a black tie wedding to attend this saturday and i need to find a long dress. Theres one store i know i'd find something but they are real pricey and cant spend that now lol. I have looked at bloomies, macy's, nordstroms, lord and taylor, unique-vintage and cant really find anything. Are there any other stores anyone can recommend, sites i can look at. Also doesnt help that ive gained weight
ive seen these dresses so far but not sure about them
and this black one is nice too but not 100% sure of it.
this one is nice but doesnt look like the top will fit me at all

How about loehmanns? I know it is hit or miss but I have gotten great dresses there before (sue wong, vera wang, bcbg, etc.).
Opps - I did not notice someone already suggested this. I have the best luck with the one in NJ but there is also one on lake success. I would also try off fifth.
its not far from me so maybe ill try it. Never been to one so had no idea what they had. Thank you

oz boutique is way overpricedd.. i kno thats prob the store ur talking bout..lol try it anyway.. sometimes they have sales..and i knwo theres a store like a block away that has a lott of long dresses.
also try great neck.. midleneck rd.. its a long shot..but u never know... but they will prob be closed this week cuz of the jewish holiday..actually..maybe most stores on austin street will be closed...just the heads up lol

I love the black dress but i can only order it online. Ill check what their return policy is just in case
I like the black dress but that is hard to buy without trying. I am thin but hippy and sometimes dresses like that accentuate the hips. But, then again, I hate buying clothes online so maybe it is just me!
i hate doing that too bc honestly i have a problem with dresses, many dont fit me. Its hard enough to find a dress that fits in the store so online its harder. The only good thing with that site is they show the measurements for the dress, shows bust, waist and hips. I have long dresses at home but none i can wear now.

NP. If you go I would head straight for their 'back room'. It shouldn't take too long in there b/c they generally don't have much and it is close enough to a ton of other shopping!

thats exactly the store i was talking about so funny. I bought my e-party dress there and a dress for NYE, its different to spend that much for an event for yourself but right now not going to spend $700 on a dress to attend a wedding lol. Yeah i know which one youre talking about, the salespeople annoy me but that might be a good option, their dresses arent as expensive. I just have to make sure i dont walk by OZ lol

do what i do, look like shyt and walk into the stores so no1 bothers u..they think ur too poor to afford the dresses lol

i love mandalay but like you said its not for a black tie, plus theyre $1k
i think i will do that. Its funny but some of these salesgirls are insane. I try on a dress with my boobs fully exposed and they say no its ok and then continue to show me dresses like that, even though i tell them i cant wear a dress like that. Its a freaking wedding not a club. Or they always show me dresses you cant wear with a bra and no matter how many times i tell them that i HAVE to wear a bra, they dont understand.

the other store with the long dresses just have 1 guy working there..and hes 'mr personality' he barely says hi lol so dont worry
oz sx cuz theyre always like 'oh we can order it for u.. itll come in 3 days' like ok lady... i didnt even try the freakin dress on..relaxx..
oo theres a ghetto store in queens center..in the basement.. by time warner.. it smells in there (chiense dumpling-bioled) but they have long dresses... or steinway street?

i have gained quite some weight recently. On saturday we had to go out and im not even exaggerating when i say that most of my clothes dont fit me anymore.
Some of the girls at OZ are pushy. Thats why i deal with eric when im there, i love him.
Ill try austin street first and hopefully find something there. If not i have to start the mad hunt. I always wait until the last minute and drive myself crazy.

Did you try Nordstom off the Rack and Saks off the fifth at the Source mall. You will be surprised sometimes they have nice gowns.

ive been to saks off fifth one time at the source mall. I didnt see the dresses but they did have nice suits and dh got one there once. Source mall isnt far from me so I might have to check that out if i cant find anything.

There is a dress store in Maspeth..i dont know the name of it but it is on the corner of 59 street and 56 ave ( close to grand ave) Its kind of in a factory area but they supposedly have a lot of dresses there

jcrew has a dress for 295 thats long and comes in a bunch of colors (i think its sofia)
ann taylor has some long ones as well..some over 300, but i just saw one for 250
another store that randomly has decent dresses for like super cheap...jcpenney

I think the black dress would look killer on you!! Have you ordered from this company before? b/c if you have the measurements then you should have a pretty good idea if it would fit or not...what is the return policy.
Also, try Cache in Roosevelt Field, they usually have a big selection of long dresses

i thought about it but it might be a bit too much especially since the dress has a train. Not only that but the couple whose wedding we're attending also attended our e-party and so did other guests.

And yes i have ordered from this site before. One dress fit perfectly fine and the other didnt really lol. But i just checked their return policy and if i return it in 14 days i can get a full refund. So think i might have to go for it.
