NEED MUSIC HELP!!! NEED SUGGESTIONS OF COLUMBIAN MUSIC!!!!

Okay, FMIL has made it clear that not only does she JUDGE how good a wedding is by the food, she also JUDGES by how many people dance (GET REAL!!) Anyway, she wants (which is fine, I just don't like her approach) salsa, bachata and merengue music. She specifically said Columbian music b/c it's best to dance to.

I am (as we 'speak') making a master CD for our CD favors and want to include some on the CD, as well I want some ideas to tell the DJ.

TIA!!!!!

salsa is great to dance to but it may be intimidating to those who don't know who. Merengue is fun and easier to dance. all of marc anthony's songs in spanish are great. (he does salsa). for merengue, you could do elvis crespo, or the group called aventura. fm if you want specfic info.

Thank you! I have a couple Elvis Crespo and Marc Anthony songs. I am open to 'anything' Hard thing is I know songs by sound, no clue who they are by.

Re: NEED MUSIC HELP!!! NEED SUGGESTIONS OF COLUMBIAN MUSIC!!!!

By 'Colombian' that you could dance to she probably means cumbia. It's similar to salsa but has a little bit of a different rhythm (it's danced similarly to). There are many good cumbia singers...I happen to love Carlos Vives...but that's just 'cause he's hot!!

Salsa, cumbia, bachata, merengue, perico ripiao are all fast Spanish types of music.

Jill, don't stress!!

Go on my DJ's website, there are examples there.

All great choices...except Aventura is bachata, not merengue.

I can put together a list of some artists for you Jill.

But your DJ should know.
