My sister is getting married in almost 1 week, her bridal gown is still not in and getting nothing but the run around from the bridal salon.
As you all could possibly understand she is in hysterics, us sisters are trying to think of a quck plan B just in case this dress doesn't come.
Please give us suggestions as to where she can buy a white wedding gown off the rack someplace in NYC or Long Island.
She's a size 8 or 10 depending on the style of the dress, 31 years old. $$ not an object here at this point.
Please give me the name of the store, locations, phone #'s, addresses or web site link if you can!

Oh no! Macy's on 34th street in NYC has a wedding gown section on its top floor.
Thinking good thoughts for your sister!

OH NO that is so horrible...i dont know if there are any sample sales this week that would be a great option. Hey i would even start calling up stores and asking if you can purchase a sample dress from them. There are some they have in the back and they wait until the next sample sale to put it out. Explain your situation to them and they might help you.

David's Bridal. Hopefully that is not the place screweing her up in the first place.
RK Bridal in Manhattan.
I believe Ann Taylor and Lord and Taylor now both offer Off the racks gowns as well.
Estelle's Oh So Dressy in Farmingdale might be able to help.
Woreitonce.com has second-hand dresses.
Good luck. Since she is close to the sample size she may not have a problem. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

where are you located? A lot of stores will sell their samples! Definitely call local bridal salons and ask! explan the situation and see what they can do!

Just curious as to which bridal salon your sister originally dealt with? I'm getting the run around too, but of course my wedding isn't one week away. I'm just very curious to see if it's the same place bc I've heard of a lot of people having problems lately. You can FM me if you'd rather do that.

It's so tough because sometimes its actually not the bridal salons fault! If something goes wrong on the manufacturer's end unfortunately there i snothing the salon can do about that....(I am NOT defending salons that mess up dresses, or don't order the right hting...etc...just sayin!)

Yes, it is tough, I totally get what you're saying. Sometimes manufacturers get backed up and that's just the nature of the beast. I've just been getting jerked around by the women at my dress place... I posted about this earlier in the week, and to my suprise, there were a handfull of brides in the same boat with the same place! The bridal salon is blaming it on the manufacturers, but almost all of the brides with this problem have different dress manufacturers! It just seems very shady and fishy and if I know 2 months out, that I will have the same problem as the OP sister, then I will definitely look elsewhere now.. sooner than later.

there was just an eposide on say yes to the dress set at Kleinfelds, where the bride needed a dress ASAP and she just bought one and they altered what they could in a week.
