Need opinion (a little long)

Okay, so I blocked off my hotel rooms yesterday and the hotel tells me that in order to get the group rate, my guests have to book their room at least ONE MONTH prior to my wedding. Considering that my invitation responses won't be due back to me until around that time, there is no guarantee that they will book the room in advance.

Would it be tacky to send out little note cards to my guests now or in a month or two stating that if they wish to make a reservation they need to make it by such and such a date and give them all of the other info with the hotel direction cards?

I would mail all invitations that would require a reservation out 2 weeks before the local invitations. Also include the hotel information (card) with the rates AND when all reservations must be made by. If they decide to book later, that's their problem, you gave them ample time to respond and reserve.

Mine hotel had the same policy. So I sent sent out save the date cards 6 months before the wedding with all the info about the hotel. This way it gave them extra time to book if needed.

Yeah, send a little earlier and make sure you give the deadline in bold type. Some people need it in their faces

My guests are not 'out of town' really. My reception ends at 1:00am and is in Holbrook. A lot of my family lives in Queens, Nassau and upstate and will not want to drive back. I think ALOT of people are going to want to stay at the hotel so I might just have to send that stuff out earlier and not include it with the invitation.

I would give your guests a heads up that they may want to make hotel reservations. Tell one friend or family member and have them pass the message along...

i see your wedding is march 2004...
i would say send save the dates out to out of town guests, with information of the hotel and when they need to book it by...
