need opinion on Saturday day wedding

Original post by vanillataco

Ladies, I need your opinion. I just got a quote for a sunday and Saturday day wedding. Surprisingly, Saturday day was a lot cheaper. Have any of you seen this? My FH said its bc people don't like to go to Saturday day weddings. Thoughts?

Westbury Manor =) I looked at Timber Point today, loved it, but we couldn't meet the guest requirement for Sunday and Saturday wasn't an option bc of FH's family. FH was making fun of me bc I found this decision more difficult to make than when I was picking out colleges. Lol

We are doing a day wedding and only had to guarantee 80 at Timberpoint. How many people are you having?

We ended up going with WM. Timberpoint was asking for 110 guests for a Sunday holiday.

If Saturday is cheaper then I'd go with saturday. Maybe if you think about if more family and friends work on a Saturday or Sunday to help u chose? HTH

We are trying to do a Sunday before a holiday that most people are off, like Martin Luther King weekend, or Presidents day, Memorial day, Labor Day. I don't like it when places make the price as if it were a Saturday. Sandcastle doesn't do that thankfully

haha...i think a lot of it had to do with the fact that i knew NOTHING about wedding planning, venues, things to do, etc. PLUS i'm planning our wedding from the city PLUS we had a very specific date and so as soon as we got engaged I had to get a lot of things nailed down. so basically....i ask wayyyyyyyyy too many questions and am constantly commenting around to see what i can learn and who everyone recommends for vendors

My wedding is on a Sunday.
We chose the date bc it's our anniversary, but it worked out super great!

My wedding is ending at 8:30, bc I wanted twilight times. Sooo, now I am the only bride that WHOLE day at the place and if it wasn't a sunday in feb, I wouldn't have gotten that!!
so, it ends at 8:30, which is def early enough for guests to get home and all and not miss work on monday!

EXACTLY! We are having a Sunday Twilight also. We figure a 3:30 start ish and end by 9. Plenty of time for everyone who has work the next day. Not to mention that anyone who REALLY wants to stay, will find a way to stay till the end. It's not like we are telling them the week before hand, they are gonna get the save-the-dates a year in advance knowing its a sunday wedding!
