OK so we have our top 2 places...The Inn at New Hyde Park and The Venetian Yacht Club....only problem is that the Inn is way over our budget for a sat night so we would have to compromise and have a sunday afternoon/night wedding whereas the VYC we could have a sat night. I dont think you could compare the two i LOVE the Inn but I dont love a sunday wedding the Inn is also giving us alot more for our money... the food is incredible.. plus they are giving is the option of having a seafood boat or Viennese hour included in the price plus intermezzo in between the app and main course. Plus at the inn they give you alot more choices to individualize any aspect of the menu/wedding its really ALL ABOUT YOU... plus my fav upgrade that would have to get... vodka infused snow cone station .... what does everyone think??? a sat night or sunday, ceremony starting around 3 and cocktail hr at like 5? is the sunday a bad idea??? HELP!!

It's funny... I think before you realize how EXPENSIVE weddings are, everyone is a Saturday night snob... once you see how much it is/how high the minimum number of guests is for night, everyone starts to change their tune!
I second the Saturday afternoon....go with the place you love!!! I went with a Thrusday night at the place we loved and yes it will inconvince some people but, if they really want to be there they will!!!!
and I absoluletely agree with Chris... if people love you they dont care if its Tuesday morning at 3:00am or Sunday evening!

IMO weddings are no matter what. So if one place is giving you what seems to be SO MUCH more for a comparable rate I would go for it. A Sunday afternoon wedding doesn't sound bad at all. Why not??

I understand where you are coming from. I always wanted a Saturday night wedding too but I knew I wanted Flowerfield so to afford it I have to have my wedding on a Friday night. I see it as, whoever is important in your life will be at your wedding not matter what day you have it on!! Go with the place you LOVE the most!

I'm a saturday night girl myself. i think that is when people will enjoy themselves the most with out worrying about work, and the way you tell it you are getting so much more!

I went with a Thursday night because I didn't want to go out of my budget for the wedding. And, also it didn't matter to me if it wasn't on a Saturday.

You definitely seem like you love the inn. What they are offering to you seems amazings. A Sunday Wedding is very lovely also I have been to a few.

You definately sound like you like the Inn better. I wouldn't stress a Saturday night as much. I'm getting married on a Sunday night on Memorial day weekend. You can always do a Sunday night on Memorial day or Labor day weekend and then a lot of people will have off that Monday.
