Need Prices and Opinions Please

hi all, I'm new to the forums (but I've been on liweddings for about a year).
My fiance (Joe) and I had checked out some places about 2 months ago.. we got a little burned out as we were also planning our engagement party.. but now that that's over, we're back in full wedding mode. So I was wondering if anyone had prices or opinions on the following places.
We are looking for a Sept-Nov 2010 OR April-May 2010 (fall would be preferred) Date.

We are interested in the following places:

Terrace on the Park

The Floral Terrace

Atlantis Marine World- we had gone there with ex friends of ours for their wedding, (about 3-4 years ago) they were priced at $90/pp.. I'm not sure if it went up since then.

Carlyle on the green

chateau le mer

East Wind Caterers

Hamlet Golf & CC (commack)

New York Institute of Technology's (NYIT) de Seversky Center

The Riviera

The Foundry

Watermill

Coral House

Westbury Manor

We have been to the following, we asked for Sept-Oct 2010 prices, saturday night

The Metropolitan- $95/pp++
pros- two floors
cons- dance floors are small, weird layout

Fox Hollow- $97/pp++ (feb is under $70)
pros- decent price, great staff, beautiful grounds
cons- room layout

The North Ritz Club- $130/pp++
pros- place is GORGEOUS
cons- you can hear the traffic on jericho tpk, they charge you extra for oval tables (LONG funny STORY, joe wasn't happy- caused a fight), OVER priced

Crest Hollow CC- $75/pp++
pros- food selection, 24 acres to take pics, golf carts, nice rooms, nice staff
cons- I personally don't like the dance floor, the room we like is too small
*as of now CHCC is our #2 choice

Larkfield Manor- $68/pp++
pros- decent price, the bar is beautiful, cocktail room is beautiful
cons- the shape of the room, no lock on bridal suite

Majestic Gardens- $95/pp++ (november)
pros- everything is amazing, the place is beautiful!
cons- a little more then we wanted to spend, they call every 2 weeks
* our number 1 choice, if we can talk them down

Manor East- package, apx $14,000 (200ppl)
pros- package, cocktail room is nice
cons- nowhere to take outdoor pictures, recently updated and still looks straight out of the 80's

I had my wedding at Terrace on the Park on 2/15/09. It was about $91/pp plus gratuity. The food is great the room was faboulous. Everything was fine. We were in the Penthouse with a fabuous view. Check them out and ask for Bruno.

I am getting married at the Hamlet Willow Creek. It is in Mt. Sinai and only about 3 years old. I would definitely recommend it!!! It has a similar style to the Hamlet in Commack but we liked it better(it has a newer look). Let me know if you would be interested in prices or more information!

We are looking for under $80/pp... but we understand that our taste and our wallets don't seem to get along.
so we could spend a little more.. it would just take away from other vendors (photog, florist, etc). We do want a full viennese... but if we can't afford it, well then we'll do without

You might want to try the Swan Club. Their prices were fairly reasonable. And I think (not 100%) they give you full Viennesse included in price if you book a Sat. night. Good luck.

Oh and CLM is awesome too...that's where I am getting married!! Their Viennesse is SICK!!!!!!!!!

Yea, I don't like the swan club.. based on pictures. not my style.. i'm REALLY picky on the floor and carpet. lol


ohh also, anyone have prices/opinions on the venetian yacht club? I was there when it was john anthonys.. about 7 years ago. my senior dinner was there, I didn't eat and spent most of the time outside, so I didn't get a good idea of the place.


and what does FM mean? sorry, trying to figure out these abrvs.

It that is the price range you are looking for, have you looked into the Swan club?

I am doing a sunday night in June at $70 pp (I hear that all sundays from April - August are $70 pp). I know for April Saturday night the price $90 pp. I am not sure for the fall, but you can definitely take a look. They have beautiful grounds.

I looked at the Venetian Yacht Club. I think (don't remember exactly, and I'm not home to check) we were quoted $115pp for a Saturday night in peak season (May-Oct).

If you're looking to do $80pp, have you considered a Friday night, Saturday afternoon, or Sunday wedding? Saturday nights are the most expensive.

I had my wedding in the penthouse saturday night Nov 8 just to show you the difference bw time of year and saturday night (as oppsed to feburary on a sunday) for the same room I paid 150 pp HTH

so, tomorrow joe and i are checking out brentwood country club, the riviera in massapequa and the coral house in baldwin....

any opionions??

Welcome and congrats!!! When I first stared looking I was interested in March, August, September and October (I know, pretty random but each month had a special date to our relationship, except October). I looked at:
Renaissance Astoria
Antuns of Westchester
Nautical Cruise Lines at the Nautical Mile
Coral House
Surf Club

I was quoted from 55-90 at these places. But to be more specific we mostly focused on the month of October. Good luck!!!

ITA....check it out. Also, take advantage of the free luncheon tasting they have during the week. Food is really good.

I was quoted $235pp Sat night in summer at Carlyle on the Green.

Let me know if you're interested in the Garden City Hotel - I am getting married there!! I cannot say enough about it... I loveee it. It's pricey but gorgeous and the food is unreal.
