Should I do table names or numbers? I need to decide now. My parents think the names are too confusing.
I really wanted to name the tables after famous lawyers and psychologists, but my parents hate that idea. So I guess I am left with qualities a good marriage has (i.e., humor, romance, etc.).
Any ideas? Any advice?

I think if you want names you should doit. It is something that is important to you and will make your day special.

Do you think that table names make it more special or just more annoying.

I personally do not like the idea of table names at a wedding.. It's too 'bar mitzvahy' in my opinion.
I would stick the the #'s.
Maybe there is another way of incorporating the lawyers/psychologists-- signature drinks served at your wedding, perhaps?
You can have mini-drink menus placed on the bar and scattered throughout cocktail hour or something.

I find the names confusing. I think that it's easier to find your table when you do numbers.
But if you really like the idea of using the names, you should do it. I would just suggest having a chart showing the floor plan so people know where they need to go.

I also think it is harder for guests to find their tables- unless you give them #'s too. At least table numbers are in some order so people can easily find their seats.

I vote for numbers. Otherwise, they wind up being kitschy, in my opinion. Plus, it sound as if you have so many wonderful details that this is one that is extra.

I love the idea.. in fact i was going to do the qualities of a good marriage BUT... since the tables are in no special order it makes it harder to find your table....do you know what i mean??? i think it is such a cute idea

Re: Need Quick Advice
Whenever I go to an event with named tables, it takes forever to figure things out, and the old people are always terribly confused
If you are having a small affair I think it's okay, but numbers are fine to most! Just find pretty and creative ways to display the actual number, I hate seeing a beautiful centerpiece, and then an ugly plastic reception hall issued number sticking out.

Thats a good idea, if you feel it will be too confusing then do a number and a name.

I prefer names, and I guarantee that the Oheka staff will help people find their tables if they are having any difficulty.
