Need some advice please,

Re: Need some advice please,

Mushpot, I agree but I got overruled. Everyone is from out of town and I don't want them to have to worry about their kids with a strange sitter. I am hiring a sitter and they can hang out in the sitting room or at their own table. But I have it easier- I only have my RB(age 3), my FG(age 4) and my SIL 's half sister who is like an adult at five. The only other child present will be almost 10- I feel bad for him since I think he will be really bored.

Re: Need some advice please,

A friend of mine had two ring bearer's and a FG at her church wedding and they did not come to the reception. The parents of the children understood that 1) they wanted a night out and 2) a reception in really no place for little kids.

FH and I have put on our invites..just so all are on the same page...'Adult Reception Only'. Many of our friends are already married with children/infants and we would prefer not to have a nursery school at the reception. Just my opinion.

Coming from a large extended family with lots of little ones...I don't think you can invite certain children and not others. Doing this will just make it an uncomfortable situation for you...

Re: Need some advice please,

Wow - hard one. We are having at least 10 children at the wedding. My 7 nieces and nephews are between 8 - 16 and FI's son is 9 plus his twin nieces (potential FG's) are 7 (almost 8).

I had not considered sending them home (or to the hotel) after the ceremony?

I guess the best way to tell her is come out and say it's your parents idea. If they are paying for your wedding then they do have some say in it - although they do not have to pay to feed the kids under 6.

My parents just told me that they dont want kids at the wedding. Well i told them that we already have a flower girl that is 7 and a ring bearer that will be 4. so they changed it too they dont want infant at the wedding. So now here is my problem, how to i go about telling FSIL that here 1 year old has to stay home? She is already talking about getting a suit and everything. It would be easy if theere was no FG or RB and they are both her cousins. Please help me

What do you want at the wedding? Sometimes I think if it's close family then yes children should be okay and welcomed. But, it all depends on what the bride and groom wants. FH and I don't really want random kids at the wedding (ex. my parents co-workers children who I don't know).

Sorry, I have no advice for ya, but I think you should decide if YOU and FH really wants kids there or not.
