Need some opinions.... Candles in the daylight

Need some opinions.... Candles in the daylight

Id like to get everyone's opinions on something...
My package deal with RH comes with a florist.... However, I was thinking maybe Ill just use the florist for my bouquets and then make my own centerpieces....
I LOVE simple but elegant... I was thinking about just having a nice pillar candle surrounded by some votive candles and some silk leaves sprinkled around them all.... (Leaves since Im going all out with my Autumn theme....)
However... I am having a Sunday afternoon wedding (ceremony at 11, CH & reception 12-5)... Would the candle look stupid/silly since it will be daytime? Would I or should I even light them if I stick to my idea?
Any input on this would be so greatly appreciated!!!
TIA!!!!

Hi! I have BAD allergies, so we decided against floral centerpieces so that I wouldn't be sick during the reception. Our wedding's still 19 days away, but we're going to use candle centerpieces for our 1:30pm reception. I personally feel that it won't matter/look dumb if the presentation of the candles is nice... Here's a pic of the centerpieces that we're using...they're even more beautiful in person. We ordered them like 8 months ago and they're STILL my favorite wedding detail

Candles during the day are fine.
Your RH is not going to be so lit up with lights that the candlelight would be lost.
Check out Ikea for some nice candle centerpiece ideas. Their candles are the only ones I burn, because they are unscented and don't drip. The price is right too.

I have a 2:30 reception and I am using a candle centerpiece -- also fall themed -- I think it will add to the romantic atmosphere I want and look lovely. Go for it!

That looks very pretty. Different then your average floating candle centerpiece.

Just in case all of you haven't already done so, make sure you check with your RH about their policy on candles. I know of two that I spoke with that do not allow open flames in certain rooms.

This is great, I am actually having the florist do this for my sweetheart table and each girl's bo-k will go inbetween the vase and mine in the middle. I love the pic

Thanks! They're reallllly a nice company to work with...I wound up dealing with them 3 times (to order a sample, to order all of the CPs and to order extra leaves) and they were VERy nice, professional & accomodating. I highly recommend them

Thanks! That's a GREAT point - you should definitely check with the RH first. We lucked out - our hall not only allows it, but is filling & setting up all of the CPs for us at no additional charge (that was another big concern of mine).

i love candles although I am not using them as cetnerpieces i saw a video from my Rh that had candles (similiar to how you described it) it is just breathtaking and elegant- i would just make sure your room isn't too bright just so you can get the dim & romantic effect

We used candles and they looked pretty in pictures but if you are looking for that romantic evenign ambiance you won't get it quite honestly. I mean it almost was a waste because our room was so well lit and all glass so even though it was black outside because we had torrentil downpours, you couldn't see the candles unless you were up close to the tables. But again, they look nice among the flowers in pictures.

If I had to do it again, migth have done mroe flowers and nixed the candls for our noontime Sunday reception.
