Need some recpetion hall and church help: Lands End

I was pretty set on booking Lands End. However, we have recently relocated to Rotterdam, NL (long story). Now we have realized that the only available time frame for us would be Jan or Feb of 2009. Considering this we can't due the ceremony outside like we imagined. Now I'm wondering if we should start from square one because we won't be able to take advantage of the outdoors. I am not very familiar with the area so I don't know of any churches we could hold the ceremony. So I'm confused because I love the hall but I'm not sure if it will work out and I would prefer not to be married in the same space as the reception. Does anyone know of any churches perhaps? Any advice?

My friend just got married in September and had her reception at Land's End.

Her ceremony was at St. Lawrence the Martyr which is FIVE, yes 5 minutes from Land's End.

HTH!

5 min would be great. Thanks for the suggestion. I am going to give them a call and see what happens.

I looove Lands End. But for me, I love it because its on the beach and the grounds are beautiful. I found it to be more money than places that were not on the beach. If you are not utilizing the grounds, I think you can find a place that's not on the water, but with equally beautiful indoor space that's a lot less money. Just my opinion.

We had our ceremony and reception at Land's End on 11/3. We ended up doing everything inside because we had all the rainstorms from Hurricane Noel in the morning.

I have to say though that Land's End was still wonderful! They have all those fireplaces and cozy places to sit and they did a great job of arranging candles and family photos. It looked very warm and welcoming. Our pictures on the staircase by the cordial room came out great. The food, the service, and the surroundings (even considering the weather) were wonderful.

As for the ceremony, we had it in the ballroom overlooking the water. The rain cleared up and we had a gorgeous sunset.

I know that when the cold weather hits, they do put up a covered walkway in front of the windows, so that would be something to ask about.

I tried to post a picture, but I stink at it. I am sorry!

I live in Sayville and depending on your religion there are a bunch of churches(of varying religions) within 2-5 minutes of Lands end. Your best bet is to go to Sayville.com and go to churches. If you do go with St Lawrence, ask for deacon Patrick Labella to marry you. He is marrying us and gives an amazing ceremony! He's even facing us towards the congregation as we take our vows so they see our face instead of our backs.

There is also St. Anns on Middle Road in Sayville. It's an Espicipal Church. I was christened there and have attended weddings and christenings there.
