need some serious hugs please

I just got an email from my professor saying that my paper is unacceptable and I can either take a 'low C' or take an incomplete and rewrite it.

I practically killed myself just to get this paper DONE. And I can't remember the last time I got lower than a B on a paper... I'm pretty much a straight A student.

I'm so f-ing frustrated right now. I know it's just a paper and it's not a big deal, but this is just kind of the last straw in a whole big pile of hay for me. I'm so fed up that I'm honestly considering just saying 'f it' and taking the C. I seriously read the email and just started bawling. I'm still crying now.

I am definitely not taking summer classes, and if I get a good job, I think I might take a year off from school, because I really just can't do this anymore.

Do you think you deserve the C? Notiwithstanding the time you spent on it, look it over and ask is it really your best work? It might be that you think you did it really well but really you've been distracted and its not your best.

Edit: this happened to me. The prof said he would give me a B, take it or re-write.I was really upset but then I looked it over and realized that the paper wasn't my best work. I re-wrote it.

I'm the type that wouldn't accept that grade.

Is this for your undergrad? If it is and you're planning to go to grad school you should take the rewriting it option so you don't have your gpa lowered based on the final grade for that class. I know its frustrating and you're aggravated, but try to talk to your professor maybe there are only parts of it that need to be redone.

aww sweetheart im so sorry. I know how hard youve been working on school lately and it just s*cks that your professor is 'one of those'. Is there anythign else you can do ? maybe have a conference with him and explain to him how you really did try yourbest and maybe take any suggestions or corrections??

thanks ladies. It's for grad school, and I don't plan on going on for a PhD, so the grade doesn't matter... the thing is, I KNOW it's not my best work, but I've done worse and not had this response before.

I think it comes down to the fact that she didn't really give us an assignment, she just said 'write a 15 page paper' and didn't really tell us what she expected... so I did a research paper, and that's not what she wanted, she wanted an anlysis paper, and obviously a research paper doesn't have a lot of analysis... so it's just a mess.

So, for another class or another professor, it would be fine, but it's not what she wanted (even though she didn't say what she wanted) so now I have to rewrite it.

Why is it unacceptable???? Sorry aboutthat hope you are able to work it out.

Don't worry about it! Don't kill yourself re writing it, Honestly no one will look at your grades once your done with school. What's important is that you get that degree and thats it!
