running....for me, it has always been the best way to lose weight on the lower body....
Doing squats and leg lifts will help too.

Re: Need tips ....
I just recently started running and doing way more cardio than I ever have, and already I've lost 2 inches on my hips since I ordered my dress in December.
I also do pilates (but not religiously) and weights.

Re: Need tips ....
yeah i think cardio is your best bet - I've always went to the gym daily but really havent lost any weight in the past few years...now I started doing more intensive cardio and noticed such a difference. I recommend buying a heart rate monitor (you can get one at Sports Authority for like 50 bucks) and trying to keep your HR at 90% - whether that means running hard or just walking briskly on an incline....youll definitely be able to slim down your waisteline - among other things!
If thats not for you, try getting a Pilates video - that concentrates on your middle section.

I recommend running (or at least jogging) 100%.
You can start slowly - begin with mostly walking and add in a few minutes of jogging/running - then work your way up until eventually you can run/jog for a full 30 mins (or more).
It is the best way IMO.

Re: Need tips ....
If you do have a gym membership - the eliptical machine is great! I can't run due to former sports injuries to my knees, so I use the eliptical machine. 30 minutes 3 or more times a week - then squats and lower body exercises twice a week (but continue your upper body training at least twice a week too). I get bored easily so at this point when I do cardio at the gym I do 10 minutes on the bike, 15 on the eliptical and 10-20 brisk walk (4.0 mph) on the treadmill. If the weather's nice (not like that's been the case lately) I also mix it up by not doing cardio at the gym, but a nice 45 minute walk around my neighborhood.

Re: Need tips ....
Running always works for me...with lunges i feel like my legs bulk up (muscle) too much. My legs feel slimmer when I walk/run.

Squats and Lunges
DEFINITELY DO THIS!!!
Take it from someone who went from a size 24 to a 10. Lunges, though they suck majorly, and may leave you in pain for a day or two, do the trick! Squats suck just as much. But remember, it is a means to an end and worth every bead of sweat.
