very soon!!!! I'm so stressed out! We need to pick our hall asap, but I still cannot narrow it down
Woodbury Country Club: Pro: love the outdoor cocktail hour, a lot was included in the price per plate Con: not one wedding at a time
Flowerfield: Pro: heard awesome reviews, love the grounds, ballroom and cocktail hour room, heard the food was amazing (which is a major plus) Con: a far ride from Whitestone, and $190 for a Saturday night in September not including any extras!! To add the seafood station at cocktail hour it was $12 more per person. We saw pictures and it was amazing!

Re: Need to make a decision
I don't know if this is 100% true or if it's just a rumor BUT I heard that WCC was going to be closing in 2010.
(It's from this thread: http://www.liweddings.com/chat/topic.aspx?ID=478267&Highlight=wcc )

Re: Need to make a decision
i think any of these places have pros and cons but i guess it boils down to the things you want most at your wedding and the budget you have to get them. tough decision but you'll make it and it will be the right one!

Re: Need to make a decision
I know what you mean. I did not take FH to appt until I narrowed down my choices because he would go crazy . If I like the place then I made 2nd apt.
If you are getting married on 1/1/10 then maybe you will be the only wedding that day. Maybe you post on BHB to see from past experience from other brides how was it when another wedding was taking place.
Flowerfield is gorgeous!!!

I've never been to either but have heard great things about both places. I'm sorry, I'm no help! Good luck choosing!

I think you can make the decision the best, think about after your wedding, do you think you will regret not choosing one of those places?

Re: Need to make a decision
Why do you have to make a decision already? It seems like you have time still..
I haven't been to either so I'm sorry I can't help you deceide. Are you set on having your cocktail hour outside? Are you getting married in January? Because it might be wayy too cold for your guests...

Re: Need to make a decision
I went to a wedding at Flowerfields last year and it was amazing. Food was great the whole setting was gorgeous. But, you don't wanna break the bank either. My FH finally got me to understand this. At first I was going crazy spending money, but he kept telling me, 'wouldn't you rather have a really nice wedding and an awesome house instead of vice-versa'.
After hearing that so many times i have finally agreed! I think it's a smarter decision to stay within a budget.

Re: Need to make a decision
I adore Flowerfield, but if $$$ and distance is a factor, go with WCC. Although with either place you will NOT be disappointed!

Re: Need to make a decision
If you are looking for one wedding at a time, I HIGHLY suggest looking into my RH- North Ritz Club. The grounds are beautiful, the place is magnificent, and the service is top notch.

Re: Need to make a decision
Thanks for everyone's responses
Just to answer some of your questions... We are not getting married 1/1/2010. I just put that date down on here b/c we do not have a date set yet. We are looking for September 09. Which to answer someone elses question---is the reason we need to book ASAP.
I know which one I love, but part of me feels bad that my guests are going to have to travel 45 minutes
Oh..and my best friend got married last year at the NRC. It's very beautiful, but we want something different

Ohhhh I love the Atlantica, but that is way too far for me and our guest. Beautiful choice!

Re: Need to make a decision
We didn't go with Atlantica though - we went with the Bourne Mansion - we didn't even look anywhere else officially... we have a friend who works at the Bourne so we visited there and fell in love!

Re: Need to make a decision
I am a Flowerfield bride and I LOVE it there, always have. It is a little but more pricey but when I sat down and spoke with them you really don't need to upgrade anything. We did add the vien. hour but for example here are some things they include at no charge where most places charge you for or you have do on your own:
Filet Mignon choice for dinner personalized menus bubble bowls for cocktail hour tables amentities basket for bridal suite and bathroom votive candles seat covers (choices of colors) wine service at dinner place cards chocolates when you leave
