Weddings in our families always leave someone to make comments and be judgemental(my future mother-in-law) We are still looking for the perfect hall without having to go into hock! Planning a May 2006 wedding. Please give us any suggestions you might have we already looked at a few and were not impressed at all for the money they were asking. Sans Souci--gorgeous view but very old in a run down way. Woodbury country club:turned off when we pulled in not very appealing, Swan Club: drove by and didn't care for the surroundings. As you can see Im real picky but willing to take suggestions. Went to wedding at Floral Terrace and although I didn't care for it being right on the street the wedding was unbelievable! Went to a wedding at Fox Hollow and although the outside was beautiful the room the reception was in was horrible, the food was horrible.

I was very picky in my own search what type of wedding are you looking for????? how many people are you going to have? do you want to stay in nassau county??? or sulffolk??? i visited like 15 places and was not impressed by alot either. maybe i can make suggestions even though you did blast my own place.....

Recommendations... Jericho Terrace (food and service are SUPERB) Chateau Briand Chateau La Mer Crest Hollow Country Club Leonards (however, service BEFORE booking was less than desirable) Villa Lombardis (I have not been, but know others who have been there and were married there) Westbury Manor
What are you looking for in decor/price/ambiace, etc. What day of the week, time of day and # of guests.
What are places that are no's. I too had a no list due to previous weddings in the family being there.

We'll given the places that you've looked already, some also in that budget are: Jericho Terrace, Leonards, Riviera, maybe North Ritz Club. A lot of people also seem to like Chateau La Mer, Russo's, Sandcastle and Watermill.

i can recommend my hall, stewart manor cc. it is in a housing development, not on jericho or hempstead tpke, like some of the halls you mentioned. one wedding at a time and we are paying $62 a head for an august friday wedding. best of luck and welcome to the '06 family!

Sorry about that, which one was yours. We are planning about 150 people. Nassau or Suffolk is fine and please let me know if you would stay far away from anywhere. lol

not for nothing, there will always be somone that you can't please in your wedding... and have a good reception hall does help, the bride and the groom are the ones that makes the wedding special. you an get married at oheaka castle and still have it not turn out good.. keep that in mind... everybody has different taste..
higher end places that you are looking for, north ritz club, lands end just to name a few are great but out of my budget

Worked at Jericho Terrace many moons ago and it is an great place but Im looking for more of a one wedding place. Not too stuffy. Like the outdoor cocktail hour thing too. Flowers, basically like every little girl I want the fairytale wedding. We are planning May 20th 2006 which is a Saturday and probably late afternoon to evening so I can get some pictures with the sun setting.

Then DEFINATLY check out North RItz Club FH and I liked it alot, but it was too much $$ for us.
Had all you want there...outdoor cocktail hour, one wedding, pictures with the sun setting.
Plus the girls on here who have married or are going to get married there will agree. It's VERY nice.

just check out smcc, it is definelty not 'high end.' but its got 1 wedding at a time and an outdoor ch and a great front lawn w/a gazabeo for pics.

that is okay i myself did not like one of the rooms at my hall and they have upgraded there menus since last year. I would totally check out giorgios in baiting hollow this was my first choice it is so elegant brand new renovations and the service omg i am doubting myself again. the only reason we did not pick this place is because it is so far away... The north ritz club was very nice too. very clean. but just not me for some reason. I also loved the terrace on the park it was beautiful. oh and my dads wedding was at the rivera that was nice to the food was fantastic. i could go on but like i said i am probably just as picky as you are so i will go no further.

THE CRESCENT IN BAYVILLE IT IS RIGHT ON THE WATER AND THE CH WILL BE RIGHT OUTSIDE ABOUT 20 FEET FROM THE LI SOUND GOOD LUCK

Thinking about the North Ritz Club how is it. We tried to get an appointment at the Cresent but the woman I talked to after playing phone tag all week with two other people there, suggested that I change my wedding date, the time I was thinking about, how many people to have, etc. So I kinda gave up, so tell me since you made it in there... How beautiful is it and what am I missing?

I HIGHLY recommend stewart Manor, it is beautiful! loved the location, the surroundings and my wedding was a beautiful affair there!

DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU SPOKE WITH? I JUST WENT THERE AND DIDNT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I LOOKED AT TWO OTHER PLACES AND WE DECIDED THAT THE CREDSCENT WAS THE ONE. I HAD MY 10 YEAR HS REUNION THERE AND IT WAS GREAT. EVERYTHING FROM THE FOOD TO THE ATOMOPSPHERE.
