Need to vent!

Okay so before figuring out the wording for my invites, I spoke with my FMIL and asked her if she wanted her name on the invite. She said no because she wasn't hosting the party. I then asked her if she wanted me to write her name after my FH name saying 'son of.' She said no!! Now we got our invites in, assesmbled and showed them to her and asked why her name isn't on them. ***, we don't have it in our budget to order more and I'm pissed

Ugh! I dont think Id redo them unless she paid.
weddings are expensive..that is why we do things right the first time..you asked her she said no!

unless she wants to pay for it, keep em! you did your part and asked in advance, like the saying goes,
she made her bed and now has to lay in it lol

You gotta love FMIL's!!!!!!!

That's why I don't share ANYTHING with mine! She always has a way of making me feel like things aren't good enough for her!

I definitely wouldn't order more invitations though! This is your day, just remember that!

Thanks ladies!! I just had to sit through dinner with FH, FMIL and brother. It wasn't fun I'm just pissed but I'm not buying anymore invites, because this shut isn't my fault.

yeah it stinks now that you feel like the bad guy, but in reality you did the right thing, asked, she said no. and now its over. dont waste the money redoing them

When I hear stories like this it makes me want to have all of these conversations with people over email so I have proof of their answers! is that bad?!? I do things like that at work when by boss tells me crazy things to do to Cover My A**!

Aww, I'm sorry. I wouldn't get anymore invites. You asked her about the wording and she told you she didn't want her name on them.

Yeah she remebered the convo. I guess I just felt bad because we usually really do get along. She took me out to Dunkin later and apologized because she didn't want me to feel bad and said it wasn't a big deal. So we are okay, but deep down still a little pissed, lol

Yea no. You need to put your foot down now. She told you she didn't want her name on it. So thats what she has to stick with. Unless she wants to pay for the reorder. Thats BS!

keep them as is unless she offers to pay for them...just remind her u didnt do it to hurt her but u and her spoke about it ahead of time..
