have you looked at North Ritz Club? I'm biased, but honestly its gorgeous, one wedding at a time, and i've heard the best things about it...what about the Woodlands? Are you willing to go all the way out east to East Wind (gorgeoussssss) and the venetian Yacht club is great! you should just make appts at all different places and see what you can find!!

I'm willing to look at NRC and Woodlands...i think we want to stay either in Nassau county or Brooklyn..only because almost all of our friends and family are in Nassau County...Queens...and Brooklyn

You should def make appts to start looking at other places. Def go to NRC, they just updated it some more and its just so lovely lol and the pricing is reasonable and they give you TONS for your money. its more elegant and intimate than some other places I've seen and its exactly what I wanted!!!

Woodlands is on a golf course, you're the only wedding and it has that old mansion charm to it

Yes please do!! Just keep an open mind about these places. Sometimes you go in only wanting a certain thing that you dont allow yourself to enjoy where you are

How about Terrace on the Park or Water's Edge.

How about Grand Prospect Hall?

Re: Need to vent a bit

well ladies i'm back from my appointment with the North Ritz Club...it was very nice..I met with Nadine and she was really sweet and answered all my questions

the grounds are really nice and they gave me a great price...$110 per person for a Friday night...I would be the only event all day so I would get the whole building to myself so if I wanted to get ready there I could

overall i had a very nice experience

tomorrow I have an appointment with The Royalton...and of course I'll update you guys when I get back from that

yeah it was really nice...and i really enjoyed the fact that we'll get the whole building to ourselves because its important to me to have it at a place where i can spend the day with my girls and get ready without the stress of my entire family breathing down my neck

yes we would have our ceremony there...FH and I aren't religious and we think it would be hypocritical of us to get married in a church when we don't practice or believe in any one particular faith

I totally understand, each hall I went to and felt that I loved (there were 3 that I loved out of the 12 I went to) I then had to go and sell it to FH and his family and have it turned down and then start all over again. And then finally I went to Chateau Briand as the last place just to look at being that its by work-i didnt even think i was going to like it and I just knew it had to be there and thankfully I didn't even have to sell it to FH's family, they just automatically said ok

It will all come together

thank you i appreciate the response...unfortunately i don't know who i'm meeting with, they kind of rushed me off the phone...i guess they were busy it sure sounded like it was

its good to know that its possible to write it in the contract that i want to be the only wedding that day...that's something that is really important to me and my FH and my dad...if we're going to be paying all this money we want them to give us their undivided attention

i'll keep you posted on how it goes and thanks I may FM you afterwards just to discuss the things they tell me and see if i'm getting a good deal or not

i think the thing that bothered me most was the fact that i'm required to use one of their two in house florists...only because i haven't heard many great reviews of either place...and the price was a little steep i thought for a friday...but it is what is it...when i bring my FH and dad back to look at the place I'll have them talk to Gerard about the price..maybe he'll work something out with us
Abby2678 Posted:

Re: Need to vent a bit

ask him about paying mostly in cash...i got a break that way...im gonna pay the entire hall in cash and he went down almost $20 per person...as far as the florist situation i am using spitz and peck and working with the owner bobby who will do anything you want at any budget...he is great as well as brian and maddy and spitz too...u get great work for your budget....im on a sunday and it was still more than i wanted to spend but like i said see what gerard will work with for you depending on what you can offer them...also if you use the rec. vendors they give you a break also ...i saved 750 on my photo because i used who gerard rec for us...anything else let me know im more than happy to help
