Need to vent big time!!

Well me and FH booked the reception hall . Were both really happy and it's still processing at lest for me the money part . That was the only great part of my day. I went with one of FH's family member's 'Just to look at dresses,not buy just look'. alright the first time i went in there I kinda was or seemed to me I was ignored by all like 5 people that were working their and looked at me like me and FH's family member like we had 10 head's, once I realized I had to sign in (no one told us to sign in or approached us I guess I had to be a mind reader) someone actually helps me. So I tell the lady the weddings not until 2009 and she was like oh, you have time! and it seemed like I was getting brushed off. Long story short I tried on a dress I swear it looked like it was once a table cloth, then when I went to go and try on a second dress like 5 times in a row as i was changing she kept knocking on the door until I got really annoyed and turned red. At that point I made up an excuse and said something came up and I had to run. I really didn't feel comfortable in that place. At first I though I was over reacting but, FH's family member even said the same thing.Thanks for letting me vent! and taking the time to read

Congrats on booking! That is so exciting! I know when I booked it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders (despite the big price tag).

Sorry to hear about the dress shopping experience. That's a big reason why I haven't gone to look. I feel like they wouldn't be too interested in my business yet.

Yeah I have gotten that also, that's why I haven't gone in a long time and I won't go until Feb of 08 to start looking again.

sorry to crash but it sounds like you went to the wedding center in commack. am i right? they are known for their good prices and shoddy service. i had the same experience when looking for the MOB dress. good luck dress hunting!!

LOL you are both right! Soon2bmrsP and LB and DC it was the wedding center in commack. My FH's cousin looked around and she was like why don't they have younger people working here?

I dont know if the age matters, the people that work there have no clue what customer service is. They ignore you and when you do find someone to talk to they treat you very rude. I feel like writing a letter to the owner but, I'm glad I'm not the only one that got treated that way. A lot of brides have a problem with them.
Sorry for them because I have 22 people in my bridal party and they wont see a penny from me.

P.S.- i think a lot of dress places think 2009 is far away but, they still offer great customer service. It's all about the attitude.

Well if you ever did want to write a letter FM me, I'll totally do it . Your 100% right, it's their loss with your wedding party, if they didn't conduct them self's so poorly the turn out would of been better.

I think it is a good thing to get the ball rolling that way you can pace yourself instead of stressing out. I did hear good things about wedding world, forgot where there located. But good luck and do what you want!

I am worried about money as well, single mom and have lots of other things to pay for.....so that is a reason why me and FH might push it off til early 2010, after our quick tax return,lol. But its only a few more months difference. But I'm still an 09 bride for now!

remember its people like us who give these people their business and make them money!

Glad you got your hall I think I had my prom there! I never remember if it was crest hollow or fox hollow!

I was thinking the same thing! she was probably like that towards me because she wasn't going to make any cash. Everytime I think of it i feel sick. Well atlest I know one place I def. won't be going.

first of all, congratulations on booking!!!!!!!! fox hollow is great from what i remember. i went to a ton of bar and bat mitzvahs there. lol.

secondly, can i recommend Helen's Bridal (Wedding World i think) in Commack... they are PHENOMINAL... are willing to help as much as they can, and really enjoy helping you. my girls are all getting their dresses there, and they have several wedding dresses...

but mostly, i do recommend David's... they were so so so so so nice to me....and im a big girl...youd think they wouldnt be so willing to help, but she was all over it. everyone there was awesome.

First of all, congrats on booking your RH. Thats exciting. I already got my first bill in the mail from Westbury Manor. its so weird!!!!

Secondly, I am going dress shopping at the end of August and my wedding will be about a year and 5 months away from then. I dont care what anybody says to me, if they dont like it, too bad!!!! My friend got her wedding dress 2 years before because she had to have that one! Nobody gave her a hard time!

I'm really suprised they did that to you! I'm going to the Bridal Building in Manhattan for mine. And if I dont see anything there, then i'm going to Kleinfeld.
