Need vacation ideas... (Long Island)

So yesterday I was soooooo excited about having our first wedding in vegas and after talking to fh for hours last night about it, he said the timing was terrible. I wanted the 1st of July but he is right and he was scheduled to move to nyc that weekend (we were driving up from va). So I was attempting to cram too much into one week and the rest of our summer is booked up terribly.

And we are also flying to buffalo that same week for my fam reunion. anyway, he suggested that we just get married here at the justice of the peace the first or second week of july and go away on a 'mini honeymoon.' he is being completely practical but after doing so much research on vegas, i was disappointed.

Any suggestions for romantic places we can drive to on long island or conn.? it would be just for the weekend. we both love wineries and spas, the beach and farms, etc...

Please name particular hotels, resorts or b and b's.

I'm waiting for fh to get back from his friday night date w/ his 9 yr old sister. They go to the mall, the chinese buffet, borders and toys r us every friday night. :) (this is until his moves back to ny in 3 weeks)

So i'm waiting to speak w/ him and hear his decision on whether it should be vegas, justice of the peace in ny (then the wineries out east) or if we'll do it on 7-7-07 during my family reunion at the courthouse's gazebo in grand island, ny (near niagra falls) then go on a mini-moon in 2 weeks somewhere in li. He said he loves that date most since it will only occur once in a lifetime. And afterall 7 is a lucky number.

So nervous and excited b/c all the options are good b/c at the end of the day we'll be married.
