Hey sweetie, im sorry that this is happening to you right now.. It sounds like your sister may have some emotional problems and may need to speak to some one about the feelings she is having that causes her to go into this type of behavior

Arent you the sweetest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!before I forget....lmt245 me just say thank you for offering to help me out as you did!

I know from personal history the signs of an eating disorder.

She is getting her period... her bmi is perfect. She does however compared to me have a XL bone structure...she is an inch taller than me, however, my ring size is a 5, hers is an 8, my wrist needs childrens jewlery, hers needs extra links. So, any small amount of weight she loses makes herlook much more pronounced than it would on me. Her at 118 and me at 118 are completely different. I still look like i could lose some weight she looks like she should gain...

An eating disorder honestly really is out of the question for her. Like the doctor said she knows how to get the attention and that is what she is doing... and the reason he sent her to a psychologist. Her major in college is Nutrition, and so she knows exactly what is needed in her body on a daily basis...

I am not sure what we are going to do....

That is a tough situation...in any case, eating disorder or not, she needs a mental health professional to step in and tell her to quit it...it won't work coming from you and your family...she is to set in her ways...its so tough...mental health stuff is terrible..dont you wish they could just give you a medicine to make it stop?!

As someone who was suffered from an eating disorder as well, it sounds like she is definitely putting on some kind of an 'ACT' to get attention. prob. because people are focused on the ENGAGED couple!

Even though she is healthy according to the Dr. there are definitely some issues that need to be worked out with her. unfortunately if your dad plays into it and gives her everything she wants, that's not going to help the situation.

she does actually need to speak toa mental health professional because something is bothering her and this is definitely her way of acting out, but im sure she isn't at the point where you can make her do that right now....

I would talk with your parents about what you think should be the course of action....unfortauntely, I think as YOUR day gets closer she may get worse with this stuff....sometimes ignoring her will help and she will realize that she isn't getting attention for her 'acting' but sometimes it makes it worse and it turns into 'more severe acting' or even worse.. actual destructve behavior.

I wish you the best of luck.. i am here if you need some help. I know a lot about actual eating disorders.. so please feel free to FM me.

Re: Need your advice please...

Thank you...
I appreciate it.....

but there is no way my dad will change.

See, my sister is the 'princess' of the family. They actually call her 'Princess Peach'.... not a joke....

I guess since my dad had nothing to do with raising me he tries to overcompensate by over-doing things with her? And she grew up with this being her way of life. Pointing to something and getting it...

Maybe you can offer to go to family conseling together because their is a deeper issue there. I am really sorry you are going through this, I think if she suspects you think she is faking it then she will become even more extreme about it.
