is anyone else/was anyone else nervous about dress shopping? I am super excited to find my dress, but I am also super nervous that I won't find anything I like. I wanted something with a cap sleeve or off the shoulder and am worried that all the dresses there will be strapless... I guess I am posting to find out if I am the only one nervous about this!

Re: nervous
try davids bridal first... they have every style you can imagine...at least you can get an idea of what looks better on you... just because you like one style better doesnt mean it will look good...

Re: nervous
umm yess!
I am planning to go next month and I've been scouring the internet and only have a FEW that I like....the ones I LOVE are way out of my budget
I know I'll find something I LOVE but I'm nervous that what I love won't be anywhere in my budget.

There's nothing to be nervous about ladies!!!!
As long as you keep in mind that there are a million other dresses you can try on... Once you try on like 4 you get a feel for which cut looks good on you and which style you gravitate towards more and then if you try on everything the store offers - there are other stores!
I promise each and every one of you that you WILL find a dress that makes your heart almost as happy as your FH
Just keep trying them on!

Re: nervous
Don't be nervous! I ripped out a MILLION dresses I like in magazines and the dress I ended up with was nothing like what I had pictured myself in. When you put on YOUR dress you will know - trust me!

Re: nervous
I don't think I was ever nervous... I was very exicted to try on different dresses/styles to see what I liked. I think the only time I was nervous was when I got the false info that my dream dress was being discontinued (stupid sales woman at Pronovias! LOL). But it all worked out, and I now have my dream wedding dress!

Re: nervous
oh! I'm also super nervous that my mom will make me second guess everything. She will probably want me to get a turtleneck with sleeves.
Also, FH is really opinionated regarding dresses and hasn't been blown away by any pictures I've shown him.
The pressure, the pressure!

Re: nervous
Honestly this was the easiest decision I have made so far. I did try on alot of dresses that were just not doing it for me but I know what I like when it comes to clothes so i had no problem. I think i went about 4 times. I went twice to Village bridal - second time ordered my DRESS there. I went to Helen's and B*u *r * t *o *n * s- I actually found the dress at B*U*R*T*O*N*S but I loved the ladies at Village bridal in babylon i went there to order! I had a few in mind bc i printed out some but when i tried them on they were not what I expected.
My advice try on dresses u think u won't like bc in the end that may just be the dress!! I did not think i wanted pin tucks- but my dress has it all-
lot of texture and some beading - just a perfect mix!!!

Re: nervous
Keep in mind that if you love a dress, but it's strapless, you may be able to have sleeves or straps added --- especially if you go to a trunkshow where the designer or a rep of the designer is present.
That's what happened when I went dress shopping. I happened upon a Matthew Christopher trunk show. Matthew was there and helped me choose my dress. The dress was originally strapless, but he agreed to redesign the top to be a tank top with a v-neck, since that's what I wanted.
