Nervous about numbers

I'm really concerned that I'm not going to meet my minimum at both my shower and weddig. FMIL gave me a list of people for each but some are not the most dependable people in the world. I'm more worried about the shower, as my mom is paying for it The minimum for the room is 20 and we have 34 people on the guest list.
As for my wedding, we have 109 invited and 75 on the guest list, out of those 109, 10 are from california and I doubt any will come. We have a few here that I doubt will come either.

if necessary, you can always invite girls from LIW ... they will give you a gift (cash, most likely) so it won't be like any money was actually lost.

and you can always ask here unofficially (no invitation needed ... you can even ask a week or two in advance).
