Nervous about something stupid... (LONG and wedding related) UPDATE BOTTOM OF P. 3!

Don't quote, I'm going to delete the details but....

I have to call Lillette's back tomorrow and I'm nervous because I'm a baby.

Basically I'm usually OOT but I'll coming back to NY for my spring break to get some wedding stuff done. I set up my hair/makeup trials for the 15th, and will be picking up my veil from Barrons and I wanted to pop into Lillette's and try on my dress.
I've been growing my hair out since August and want to see how my hair looks with the dress (if it's too long, too short, if I like the style, etc) and also the veil.

I called Lillette's last week to set up an appt to come in and try on my dress, and the woman I spoke to on the phone was SO nasty to me. She basically said she couldnt make me an appt because I would just be wasting their time.

I was like...wait, what? She said 'oh you have to understand, we are a busy store and you'd just be wasting our time since you already ordered your dress with us and we need to focus on new customers'... I said I only wanted to slip on one dress which should take 5 minutes, and I didn't need a full appt to try on multiple dresses etc. She said sorry, we cant let you waste our time and if you come in without an appt and we're busy we'll just ask you to leave. (that's why I wanted to make an appt!) I ended up telling the woman I was disgusted by their lack of customer service considering we ordered my dress, 6 BM dresses and my grandma's dress with them, and hung up.

My mom wants me to call back again and ask for the bridal consultant we've been working with... but I'm still kind of frustrated and I'm a little afraid to argue with them again.

i called 20 min ago but they dont open until 10:30. i need to finish getting ready for class, and then i have class from 11-1 NY time and then i'm on spring break.

i will probably call once i get back from class

Umm, I was there on Sunday and a girl came in to do the exact same thing!! They actually asked me if I minded waiting a couple minutes and they helped her - I didn't care at all. I just needed to get measured and certainly didn't need the full time they alotted for me.

I would call back and talk to the girl who helped you. (or Pat, she's so nice!)

thats weird, cause i go in there without an appointment and try my dress on (sometimes)...Who is your consultant? Call and ask for her....

hi. i know i'm really late in chiming in here but i bought my dress at lillette's too and although i haven't gone back to 'visit' my dress, my bridal consultant told me i could come back anytime. i think you got a grumpy, mean woman on a bad day! I definitely think you should call back and speak with your consultant. i don't know if you should make a big deal out of the first phone call, but maybe from here on out only try to deal with your consultant directly. i called them the other day to find out if my dress was in yet and they were very nice. i understand how you feel about being nervous to call again (i'm the same way about confrontation), but just speak to your consultant directly and i'm sure it will be fine!

Thats awful, I would call the person you've been working with and tell her how rude the woman you spoke with was. Totally unacceptable

good to know! Pat is very nice too, we ordered our BM dresses through her, but I can't be sure it wasn't her I had spoken to because I don't recognize her voice. I called during my drive to class and my consultant isnt in until ~4pm.

Hopefully it will be a non-issue... maybe I did just catch someone on a bad day.

I've heard really greatt hings about their customer service, but when I went with my MOH to look for a bridesmaid dress, I wasn't terribly impressed.

They wouldn't let us make an appointment for ~4:30/5pm on a weekday because there would be some sort of shift change, so they gave us a 6pm appointment. We showed up at 4:45pm anyway because we didn't want to stay late, and they reluctantly let us look around. We honestly didn't bother anyone except to ask how a sash would sit around the waist.

I would call them back and ask to speak to a manager...they're not as busy as they say they are...

Oh No She Did Nottt!!!!! What?!?!? I think that it's time for that deep down inside Bridezilla to come out!!!! Call them back - mention the *****'s name that was nasty to you and tell them that you ARE coming - Make room!!!! Tell them your situation with being OOT so often and BE THE BOSS!!! Even if you want to be nice about it - ask them when their slowest time of the week/day is - and you'll come then. Don't let them tell you that you can't - YES YOU CAN!!!! Get us an update on that one!!! Good Luck!!

one of the reasons i didn't order my dress there is because they were more expensive then most wedding shops and even though the woman who helped me pick my dress out was a doll i heard nightmare stories from friends that told me once they get your money they want nothing to do with you.

If I were you I would just call and ask for an appointment with your consultant.

I found the dress I want there but I don't like them at all. I felt they are snotty and I didn't even order yet. I have an appt this weekend with another shop and I hope they can order the dress I am looking for.

I'd call again, I wouldn't take it.

Makes me even happier that I haven't ordered yet!

OK, I talked to my bridal consultant, she was very nice and asked what time I wanted to come in, etc. She wrote me in the book for a try-on at 4pm.

Sooo... if anyone wants to see my hair trial, makeup trial veil and dress.... you know where to find me next saturday


Edit: I didn't mention the previous phone call.

That is so rude! I am tired of some vendors in the wedding industry thinking they are all high and mighty but in reality, they are so unprofessional.....what you want to do is so simple, it's a shame that the person you spoke to was so nasty about it! I am getting angry for you!

I think she needs to know how her rude words will come back to bite her....if I were you, I would go higher than her (if you can) and make a big stink. Maybe she will think twice before speaking like that to a customer.
