I have a problem. My wedding is in nov.2007. it is at 4oo in the evening. We're having a mass. SO figure about an hour for that and then saying bye to everyone. By the time I get out of church it will be dark for my pics! the church will not move the time. What should I do?

well....if you're not really willing to do pics before the church, you unfortunately don't have much to work with...even the pics outside the church are going to be dark b/c it will start getting dark by 445ish..... Maybe you and FH can meet at around 1 or 2ish to take pics at a park...or the beach...etc....

We're doing our pics before the ceremony. It didnt feel right at first but I read some great stories from other girls on here that did it that way. They changed my mind,

We are doing pics before the ceremony at OWG.
You might not be husband and wife, but they are still pics of your wedding day ....

I had the same problem. I called the churches and find out what time they wedding ceremony. I am getting Married in Brooklyn at 1:30pm. I live in Staten Island and FI lives in LI so it work out perfect. The church in SI starts at 4:00pm and MY FI church starts at 3:00pm.
If I was you I would call churches and see.

Why don't you scope out the wedding reception hall ? Look for some good places in there to take some formal photographs. You can also take alot of pics inside the church.. Make sure you get the pics in front of the church right away.. after the recieving line.. The only other option is skip the receiving line!

Yeah, b/c its a Friday, they wont move it up any earlier. I know my church was 4:30 then I changed it to 4:00, then I thought 3:30, but they wouldn't do it any earlier than 4:00.
What time is ur cocktail hour and how far is your church to the RH?
If you have a 4:00 pm mass, it should be over by about 5:00, 5:10, say thanking thank you, family pix over there, ...... 6pm ABOUT....roughtly...6 pm if it ends at about 5:00. Ur cocktail is probably not until 8:00 which gives you almost 2 full hours which is not alot of time. but u can get HUNDREDS of shtos as long as you just make it a point to not make beer stops [tell the guys from now!] and go straight to RH for pix, not the beach or anything, then you'll be fine. I managed on a friday night, even with stopping at the beach.
If you feel like you don't have enough pix at night, ask the photographer [or even ask him in advance] to take you out at night. Those night shots are even more romantic!
Also discuss w/ ur photographer ur concerns about the timeline. He'll assure you everything will be fine. I was going crazy back and forth myself, because I was on a Friday too, my church was in Bethpage, my RH was in Holbrook, so it was the heart of traffic hour & people going to the Hamptons for the weekend, PLUS I wanted to stop at the beach 4 pix. We managed to do it, but I wanted night pix outside Villa anyway...........

Ok, duhhhhhhhhh...i didnt realize november would be dark... I thought they were doing away with changing the clocks back so that it wont get dark early? I thought I heard that.............. Hmmmm....maybe your RH has well-lit areas, or even inside? Outside would be nice too & very romantic. . .
