Nervous, scared, I got the word of Layoff in JFK

FI got the word today that JFK needs to layoff 396 TSA employees. JFK got the word from the government today, they are the number 1 airport that needs to do this. In the meeting he was told that if he puts in for a transfer to an airport that is hurting he'll get it and it will happen anytime between now and Sept 1.

He's going 8am to HR and putting in for the transfer to Sarasota airport because they are desperate for people. So as of tomorrow his paperwork is in for the transfer and it will happen. (Sarasota is 30 min from where we will be)

I am so nervous. He'll get approved for the transfer and the government will pay for the move. I am happy about the gov't will pay for the move, nervous of these talks (I've been through 2 waves of it when I was with American Express) and anxious about moving to Florida.

I'll know more tomorrow when he gets home from HR. I'll post as I know info

I just read this in Wall Street Journel..

The # is higher Melissa..

They said they are cutting 3500 but from all over..

I wish you luck..
You should now def start looking in Florida

that really stinks...but at least he has some option...at this time...to get a job somewhere else.

Thanks girls.

He just left now to go to HR and fill out the paperwork for the transfer. It a guarantee. He was told if you dont want to get laid off you can transfer and the gov't will pay for it. Well he's doing it.

He thinks its a sign, the morning when he got dressed the first tank top he grabbed (and t wasnt on top) was the first harley shirt tim got him (its a weird superstition that you can not buy your first harley shirt) and the shirt is from Sarasota.

T: its 396 that is getting cut in JFK and 3500 total across the US. JFK is number 1.

Well he just left I'll know more when he gets home

That I am glad about that we have other options.

I am just a nervous wreck, its stress I dont need right now. I think I am just a wreck because I dont know anything. I dont feel in control of the situation.

I'll know more when he gets home.

T really. Last night in the meeting they said JFK was number 1.

This is all so confussing and so stressful.

Lisa: I've been hearing it from family members for months. Everyone keeps telling me that their are layoffs and since I didnt hear anything all I would say is well JFK is not hurting.

I honestly didnt know. I dont pay attention to the media hype because they sometimes blow things out of proportion.

But last night when he said it and was at the meeting it confirmed everytyhing everyone was telling me.

I just called my mom and she was like go there is nothing here holding you back, go, start your life over.

I was like whoa my mom was taking it better then I thought.
