Tell us what you are looking for. interested in, etc etc!! We'd be happy to help!!

I also recommend Long Island as the city tends to be pretty expensive for weddings, but either way we are here to help!!

Welcome and congrats on your upcoming wedding!!

Welcome! You will be getting married the day after ME

I agree, I think the winter wedding with the Xmas theme is the best. I am so excited that is will be here so soon.

NYC is very expensive, but if you have a big budget, you can really do it up nice.

Long Island has tons of reception sites that also will let you have a ceremony on the grounds.

I guess it all depends on your budget, taste, and size of wedding (#of people)

There are some hotels here on the island that cater to weddings and it could also be a place that you stay Huntington Hilton, Windwatch, Garden City Hotel, ect. Same goes for NYC- Marriot, Regence, Maridian, ect.

Using this web site you might find very helpful in your plans for a NY wedding. What part of Texas are you from?? We have family in Houston Tx and are taking the 2nd part of our HM there for 6 days. I am excited, never been to TX before. Welcome again to the boards and hope we can help

Re: NEVER BEEN TO NEW YORK

WELL FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO THANK ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE REPLIED TO MY MESSAGE, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO ME. TO BEGIN I REALLY WANTED TO HAVE A HUGE WEDDING. I ALREADY HAD 27 BRIDESMAIDS!!!! WELL THEN WE OPENED UP A SMALL BUSINESS HERE IN TEXAS WHERE I COACH TUMBLING AND CHEERLEADING, AND WE OWN A SEMI-PRO FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE NAFL. WELL AS GOOD AS IT MAY SOUND, WE ARE JUST IN THE BEGINNING OF BUSINESS, YOU KNOW LIVING PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK AND DIDN'T KNOW IF WE COULD AFFORD A BIG TRADITIONAL WEDDING, BUT OUR FAMILY KEPT SAYING NOT TO LET THIS GET IN THE WAY OF WEDDING PLANS...........SO THEN WE THOUGHT ABOUT GOING OFF SOMEWHERE AND GETTING MARRIED. AND WE BOTH REALLY WANTED TO DO IT IN NEW YORK, WE BOTH LIKE THE COLD WEATHER AND X-MAS, AND I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A ROCKETTE, AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM PERFORM, OR A BROADWAY SHOW, AND MAYBE A FOOTBALL GAME (NFL GIANTS, JETS).

SO TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS IT WILL BE A SMALL WEDDING, BUT I REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO JUST DO IT ALL AT THE COURTHOUSE. I WAS WONDERING IF THEY HAD ANYTHING THERE LIKE IN VEGAS, LIKE MID-EVIL WEDDINGS WHERE EVERYONE DRESSES UP, OR MAYBE A NICE CHAPEL. I HAVE A FEELING THAT WELL STILL HAVE AT LEAST 20 PEOPLE JOINING US. I WANT TO DO SOMETHING ROMANTIC, AND MEMORABLE. AND FOR THE RECEPTION I FIGURE THE WEDDING PARTY COULD ALL GO OUT SOMEPLACE NICE AND ENJOY THE REST OF OUR STAY IN NYC. REMEMBER WE HAVE BEEN LIVING TOGETHER FOR 3 YEARS ALREADY, WE JUST WANT IT TO BE SPECIAL AND IN NY.

PLEASE HELP!!

Re: NEVER BEEN TO NEW YORK

Your plans sound like a lot of fun

What came into my mind was a boat cruise around NYC. You can get married on the boat and then cruise around and see everything. Not sure if Dec. would be too cold for this or how expensive it is, it was just an idea.

Good luck with your wedding and with your fottball team. Both sound very exciting

Re: NEVER BEEN TO NEW YORK

Congrats! Do you have a price range per person? I can't think of any Vegas-type chapels in NYC...You might be able to get a couple tables at a restaurant...Most restaurants will be over $100 per person for a full meal...With 20 people or so you may be able to get a small room in a restaurant....

Re: NEVER BEEN TO NEW YORK

I REALLY DON'T HAVE A PRICE RANGE PER PERSON. I WAS HOPING I COULD GET SOME PACKAGE WITH MY FLIGHT AND HOTEL. AND HOPEFULLY THE HOTEL WILL HAVE RESTARUANTS IN MIND, AND MAYBE EVEN A PACKAGE ON SOME SHOWS.

TO ANSWER A QUESTION: I'M FROM CENTRAL TEXAS. I'M TRULY A COUNTRY GIRL. SAN SABA TEXAS TO BE EXACT. WE HAVE UNDER 3,000 PEOPLE THAT RESIDE HERE. IT IS VERY SMALL, EVERYONE KNOWS EVERYBODYS MOM, SIS, BRO, GRANDMA, DOGS NAME, ETC.

WITH ANYONE THAT CAN HELP I WOULD APPRECIATE, I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE TO START

Hello fellow Texan.

I think I've driven through San Saba.. honestly never stopped though.

I'm sure you could find a place, but folks out here don't do 'small' and it's a 'per person' type of thing. Something I have been trying to get used to.

Best of Luck.

Honestly if it wasn't so darned close to your wedding date, I'd mail you out the Long Island/New York Reception Site Magazine. List a lot of the places around her and their prices/websites/pictures.

I bought mine at Barnes & Nobles when I was looking for a place. Try asking your local B&N see if they can order it for you.

I don't know anyplace that will offer a whole wedding package, from the flight to the hotel to the actual wedding, in Manhattan. They may be out there but I've never heard of them.

Congratulations by the way and hello

Xelindrya is right, most, if not all, weddings are calculated 'per person' and not a flat rate for the reception. And the cheapest I know of is about $45 - and that was in a restaurant (most weddings are in catering halls). It can be done cheaply but you would have to do alot of research.

Take a trip to a travel agent in your town and ask them if they know of any 'wedding packages' in NYC.

I don't know if Broadway shows come with a flight/hotel package either, but again, definitely ask.

Good luck

Re: NEVER BEEN TO NEW YORK

I dont' know of any places where they specialize in medieval weddings in NYC. You can have a wedding on a small yacht if you wanted to but that would cost you $$$ I think.

See if you can get a NYC WEddings type magazine - something in there may help you.

Re: NEVER BEEN TO NEW YORK

IS THIS TRUE

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF PEOPLE GET MARRIED AT NIAGRA FALLS, OR EMPIRE STATE BUILDING, CENTRAL PARK??

JUST CURIOUS???

Re: NEVER BEEN TO NEW YORK

THATS THE THING, WE REALLY DON'T KNOW.
WE JUST WANT IT TO BE SOMEWHERE WE BOTH HAVEN'T BEEN BEFORE. AND SO WE ARE REALLY UP FOR ANYTHING, AS LONG AS ITS IN NEW YORK. BECAUSE I'M SURE WE WILL CATCH A BROADWAY SHOW.(ITS SOMETHING THE BOTH OF US HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO.) WE JUST BOTH GOT A WILD HAIR AND ONE DAY JUST SAID, LETS JUST GO OFF SOMEHWHERE, AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, NY CITY POPPED UP AND THIS IS REALLY WHERE WE WANT TO DO IT. I'VE BEEN TO MEXICO, HAWAII, LAS VEGAS, FLORDIA, AND EVERYWHERE ELSE IN BETWEEN, BUT NEVER UP NORTH. I KNOW IT MAY SOUND CRAZY BUT I SEE NY IN THE MOVIES AND HAVE ALWAYS SEEN IT AS A VERY ROMANTIC PLACE, CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG......

AND DURING CHRISTMAS, I CAN'T THINK OF A BETTER PLACE!!!!

WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT MAPS OF NY, ITS SO BIG!!! HOPEFULLY WE CAN STAY LONGER SO WE CAN SEE EVERYTHING YOU GUYS GOT GOING ON OVER THERE (REMEMBER I'M FROM THE COUNTRY......ANYTHING PAST 20 STORIES HIGH IS HUGE TO ME......THE BIGGEST BUILDING IN OUR TOWN IS 4 STORIES HIGH!!!!!!!!)

I'M SURE THE MOMENT I STEP OFF THE PLANE I WILL BE IN AWE! SO REALLY ANYTHING WE DO WILL BE GREAT, I JUST WANT A HEADS UP AND ANY SUGGESTIONS. EMPIRE STATE BUILDING, STATUE OF LIBERTY, NIAGRA FALLS, CENTRAL PARK, AND SOME OTHER PLACES WERE WHAT SOME OF MY FRIENDS CAME UP WITH. THE CLOSEST THING WE HAVE TO COMPARE TO NY IS SEX IN THE CITY. HAHAHAHAHEHEHEHE

Re: NEVER BEEN TO NEW YORK

you can do something like a geta room in manhattan and several of the hotels offers discounts on tourist attractions and plays. you should contact a libert travel agent in ny. as for the actual wedding i think milleridge inn on long island would be great for your wedding tha time of year. there decorations are amazing and they have this old fashioned bakery and lil shops in a attached village. they have several private rooms some with low miniums like 24 people. there packages are slightly higher in december but i think you can get packages starting at 26.99 p.p/ check out there website
