New Bride to Be... Question!

Hi everyone! I just got engaged yesterday! :)

Looking to get married in Sept or Oct 2009...honestly....Do you girls thinks it doable as far as finding a venue? Or do you think I am nuts and that it will be impossible?

hi welcome n congrats..i dont think its impossible..but its not going to be easy..u might want to start looking asap and thinking of sun nights or days if nothing is open..good luck

I think its definitely possible i changed my date in October of last year because of some issues and my venue still had available dates. I would start checking into places ASAP and before you go visit the places and fall in love with them, call them beforehand and ask them if they have available dates.

Congtrats. its not imposs. but not going to be easy. Start calling venues now you might get a good deal on a friday night.

i def think its possible...you may just have to be willing to make compromises bc some of your first choice vendors may already be booked up.

I think it is possible as well...Just remember that if you have a specific venue or vendor they may be booked

Welcome and congrats!

I think it's possible to find a venue, just be willing to be flexible on your choices just in case your top faves are booked.

I got engaged in December and that was what my initial game plan was. If you're looking to do a Saturday night, however, most places were booked already. BUT, most places I looked at still had Halloween open and it does fall on a Saturday this year. Many still had dates in November too.

If you're looking to do a Friday or Sunday, you may be able to still find a place.

You should do a search on here.. sometimes girls have had to cancel or postpone their 09 weddings..times are tough, so you may find some openings.. ask that when you call the halls also.

I dont think so at all! I feel the sooner the better if you can do it honestly. Me and FH didnt want to wait either....we got engaged and are getting married in a little less than a year

We got engaged in Dec and married this past July...it's definitely possible but it will be stressful at times lol. We wanted a Sunday afternoon and had no problem getting the hall we wanted, even got a better deal bec it was so close (RHs know that if they are not booked by 6 mos before the date that there's a good chance they won't book the date...most dates are booked much more in advance). GL!!!

Congrats and Welcome. I think you can plan the wedding for this year if you are willing to be flexible. Sometimes RH will actually give you a discount if you book a date that is less than six months away. I think you should start looking into things ASAP! You might also want to start looking at dresses b/c some dresses can take a long time to come in.

I got engaged in November and was hoping to get married of fall '09...its doable - it wasn't for us because we wanted a Saturday night, and the places we fell in love with didn't have availability.

If you are flexible on the date though, it might work. I tried to persuade FH to do a Friday night...he wouldn't budge though. You can get a much better deal too!!

Its amazing how quickly things book up. I called up a band and they are already booked well into 2010!
