Looking to get married in Sept or Oct 2009...honestly....Do you girls thinks it doable as far as finding a venue? Or do you think I am nuts and that it will be impossible?

Congrats!!! Like everyone said get started....IMO if there is a place and date you really want...whats the difference in waiting a extra year...it may sound like a long time but you won't have to compromise as much!!

If you are willing to move to November it will probably be much easier. I don't think it's impossible though, but you gotta get movin!!

I think its possible, just start looking and you might get a better rate since some RHs are looking just to fill in the date.

i think you will actually luck out and get a great deal. FH and I went to RH last night. We are looking at APril 2010, but the BM was telling us about discount in september or october 2009 - cuz they cant get rid of the date and they had cancellations.
so you may just hit it right!!

yay! congratulations!! i definitely think it's doable. i got engaged last august and our wedding is in June. we didn't want to wait at all!! :o) we had 10, but honest, i was done in 4 (cause i was obsessive!!) but it's doable! I say go for it! just stay organized and get busy :o) but whatever you do, enjoy every moment, because it goes FAST!!

i just got engaged on christmas and we are having our wedding this october 2009. its not impossible but you do have to be open to fridays and sundays because we looked at 10 places and only one had a saturday available! this could be to your benefit because fri/sun are usually cheaper. start looked asap!! and when you call to schedule an appointment you can ask what dates are available, they can tell you over the phone and if you dont like any of the dates dont waste your time. good luck!

Welcome! I think it is definitely possible. What I am realizing is that I am basically getting everything I want and I do not have to stress longer than necessary. (although there are great benefits to waiting as well). What I am mostly finding is that I am able to book with the vendors I want, but not the specific people. The best are the first to go. This happened with my photographer and my DJ.

not impossible, people have done it. But it will be alot of work you have to do SOON. ANd i know you said about booking an RH soon and will that be possible but remember that you also have to think about ALL the vendors you have to book too. Alot of them book way in advance so just know that many will be booked already when you call them, so have an open mind and dont be completely set on any vendors before even calling them.
The good thing is you might geta better price with the RH.

Of course it's possible. We got engaged in July of 2006 and found our venue in December for an April 07' wedding. A Saturday night too! Good luck!
