Just wanted to say Hi! This site looks like it is going to help me alot. I am planning the wedding for July 2004. I grew up on Long Island but now live out in Los Angeles, CA and will be flying back for the wedding and other things.
There seems to be tons of info on this site. Any suggestions on the best and worst of it? Any insider tips?

There are beautiful vineyards out on the North Fork of Long Island. I believe they may cater to weddings as well. Good luck & happy planning!

I'm getting married at the Riviera in 10 days!!! YIKES!!
Hopefully if the weather holds out, we'll have the ceremony in the gazebo there.
Here's a tip for an outdoor ceremony, no matter where you decide to get married. Have your DJ (or band) set up a microphone and speakers at the ceremony site. Otherwise, NOBODY will be able to hear your vows or anything else that's said. Voices are just lost outdoors.

Thank you for the suggestions. I am compiling a list of what everyone is saying and when I fly back to long island first week of July I will start searching.
And let me add I think I am already addicted to this board. How do you keep up with all the new posts..

I'm having mine at Coral House and we are having our wedding outside on their small lake. And the flowers are beautiful!
