New Here + Photog and Bands

Hi everyone! I am new here. Engaged on my 30th birthday end of January :) I am currently looking for photographers and bands which is proving to be the hardest part thus far for me.

I know you all must answer the same questions over and over but I would appreciate any help I can get!

Photog: Jay Lim?
I really like everything Jay Lim has to offer look-wise (I also love that they are open on Saturdays according to their hours) and they are also very close to my house on LI (Nassau) which makes visits easier. It is really hard for us to sit with a photog after work during the week as we both work in the city!! Does anyone have pricing for them and experience with them? We would use them for photography and videography if we like their quote.

Bands: East Coast Band, Around Town, Faze 4?
As for bands, has anyone used and have quotes for either East Coast Band or Around Town? I also looked into one of the Faze 4 bands if anyone has a quote or experience with them? I looked in to Soul Revival but they said they don't offer video clips or showcases they just go by word of mouth! Although I am sure they are great, I just can't bring myself to book a band who I don't see prior to my own wedding. :)

Congratulations!! I'm using Patken. They're amazing and work around your schedule for meetings. My fiancé works really long hours too. They have a Suffolk office and one in NHP. I'm using a dj, Bravo Sound. They're out of Astoria but also work with your schedule for meetings.

Congratulations!

We were going to meet with JayLim too, but was turned off by other posters' reviews saying that you meet with a sales consultant and not your actual photog.

As for music, we went with Code Blue with Skyline Orchestras. They are amazing! They seem to have 2 live showcases on every other Monday at venues, usually in Nassau. Definitely check them out! I'll send you FM on my quote.

I met w a sales person at jaylim. After the meeting they emailed me galleries w pictures that the photographers available on my day took and that was how I was supposed to choose. While I really liked the pics I didn't like that I didn't get a chance to meet w the photographer before signing. Your photographer is with you along time the day of your wedding so I wanted to make sure we liked the personality of the person shooting our wedding. We are using study 27 and are extremely happy with them!

Thanks for this info. You didn't get a quote from Jaylim did you? I won't bother meeting with them if I don't think what they offer is reasonable for us. Don't want to waste any time! Dying to see so I can either move onto other photogs or make some time to meet them.I just love their style.

Im using a DJ and I went with long island sound, amazing! we were at a wedding they did and it was unbelievable they had a whole set up like band along with dj. We are having the same. They have every instrument u would like to add, kind of the best of both worlds, Photography I went with TJ at Angel Project Studio, INC. IF you can't get TJ, Chris is amazing , Tj is the owner. both amazing I highly recommend

My friends have used Faze 4 - I think the Next Faze - and they were great! I went to a wedding in August with them and I have another one coming up in October where they will be playing.

I booked JayLim. They have been super easy to work with and really helped make me a package specific to my crazy family. My friend also booked them (which is how I heard of them) and her photos came out AMAZING! I met with Angel Project and lovedd them; they were just a little out of my budget. (Little did I know how over I would be at this point!)

LOVED East Coast Band! We ended up with Storytellers, they are kind of like East Coast Band's sister band. They practice together. We actually ended up mixing and matching some of the musicians from East Coast with Storytellers because we loved the male/female singer from Storytellers. Feel free to FM for pricing-it will probably be a bit off as it was almost 3 years ago-which is crazy! But, highly recommend either East Coast or Storytellers. They are both amazing!
