**New OFFICIAL West Indian Brides Thread**

Original post by luvly73

Alright so I recently stumbled upon the old thread and noticed how long it was. Also most of the brides from it are gone so I figured we should start a new one!
So girls lets introduce ourselves.

I' m from Trinidad but came here when I was 8 mos. I've been back about 4 times.
FH is from Guyana, (figures right?)

We have been together for a long time and now that this wedding is happening, I am trying to plan the wedding of my dreams while still incorporating some of the good ol tradition, that the In laws want

Anyone else?

Re: **New OFFICIAL West Indian Brides Thread**

sooooo.....this year...me and the BMs have been on a carnival theme so far...we went to Caribana, went out for Labor Day weekend here, went to Miami and now everyone's talking about Trinidad for next year.....i was thinking wouldnt it be fun if we could incorporate our carnival theme into the reception some how....

any suggestions? i dont want to incorporate it into the decor just the partying...maybe a signature drink? or flags to wave when the DJ plays soca??

I also went to all three and i play Mas every yr at them. I went 2 Trididad this yr and I am going back next yr. I have my costume already....
How about if you get masks, and glow sticks or necklasses. My friend did that at her wedding and it was a hit. They turned out the lights and all you could see where the glow chains and it was off the hook. You can also have girls in carnival costumes pass through for a bit like towards th end of the night or something. I dont know if your rec is in or outdoors but you can also have Moko Jumbies pass by. I was the President of the Caribbean Club at my old College for years and I used many companies that provide these things.
