New Tahiti Thread

Original post by lsiliato

Ok ladies I am ready to book my honeymoon and there are so many posts I am going crazy with confusion.

For the ladies who have already gone to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora.

What were your favorite hotels?
How long do you recommend staying in each place?
Where would you not go back to?
Anything you wish you would have done?

Thank you.

Question!!
can anyone help me regarding Pearl and Sofitel hotels in both Moorea and Bora Bora? any experience or things you've heard?
This is what i learned:

Moorea Sofitel- located on one of the best beaches in Moorea, however not within walking distance to shopping and eating

Bora Sofitel- any comments? - need help on this one!!

Moorea Pearl: I heard it was nice, and located within walking distance to shopping and eating

Bora Pearl-also a nice hotel

tia!!!

i saw the moorea sofitel while there, we stayed at the pearl on moorea, and i would HIGHLY recommend the Pearl.

really? why so???? thanks!!

not only is the resort beautiful, but it is conveniently located to everything. the staff was so friendly and it was just a very ethnic place to be- very polynesian!!!

sounds like someone is a travel agent.

She is - she's great and has lots of helpful info! She posts on tripadvisor boards too and helped me so much with my honeymoon planning!

Ask away - FP is her specialty!

Jess I'm glad you checked in over here...I felt like you had posted on the FP thread in a while...welcome back! I leave in roughly 50 days! It's finally almost here...can't wait!

Jess not sure if you saw my other post....FH surprised me and extended our HM by 2 nights. So now we're ending it off with 4 nts at Le Taha'a instead of 2! I'm so happy! He called our TA all on his own and did this to surprise me!

Thanks. I am excited. PLEASE say some prayers though....FH's dad has cancer (as only diagnosed this year around Father's Day). We just found out yesterday it has spread into many other areas and the chemo he's been getting hasn't been doing a thing. They aren't sure if he'll make it to our wedding....42 days! If he does make it though which we pray he does - we will probably have to postpone the honeymoon which makes me so sad but obviously we will just go at a later time (thank god for trip insurance!). It's hard going thru all this during what is supposed to be such a happy time in our lives...I'm just so sad!!!

Re: New Tahiti Thread

OK so FH and I dream of going to the polynesian Isl for HM, but we're really worried about the cost. A friend offered as a wedding gift her timeshare to anywhere in the world for 1 wk for free so we though maybe spend a wk in one place and then hop to another destination around there for the other week (14 day HM total)...does anyone have any recommendations regarding this or is a red flag going off...I don't want to end up staying at some crap hotel for my HM kicking myself for not booking it myself through a travel agency. I DUNNO WHAT TO DO
