new to board!

hello everyone!
i just got engaged last week on 3/18 and i'm just beginning to plan my wedding for sept-nov 2010??
we're planning a small family only engagement party in may....has everyone picked their bridal parties? is this a step i should take care of later on?

Welcome and congrats!!

I know who I want to be my girls and I've already asked my MOH...but FH (future husband) has not solidified his choices and probably won't be asking for a while.

I think you are still good, there was actually another post on this today. I'd say around a year out is the time where you gotta ask.

Welcome and congrats! I think it's a personal choice. I already knew most of the girls I was going to pick, but some I'm undecided about, so I held off asking people officially. I know a lot of people say to wait until a bit closer to the wedding so that you're sure that you're still friends with people etc, but I say if you know who you want to ask, go for it! They can be a big help in the planning!

dont worry about the bridal party just yet. first, congratulations and welcome. do you have an idea where you want to have the reception? i would start lookin at halls and ceremony sites...after that things will fall into place.

Congratulations & Welcome!!!!!!
You dont have to ask you BM before the party, unless you know for 100% who you want and know that wont change. I would wait until a year out to make the decision.

HAPPY PLANNING!

Congratulations and welcome to what will be your new addiction. This site is great and you can learn so much about the wedding process by chatting with these ladies.

As for asking people to be a part of your bridal party... I waited a few weeks, but I knew who I was asking. there is no real min. time frame... but give them enough time to help with the planning, picking out the dress, saving for their dress, and all the activities... lol. So the more time you gve them the better off in my opinion.

Best of Luck!

Congrats and welcome! The bridal party can definatly wait...sometimes girls change their mind abuot their BP and regret asking. I'd focus on finding a RH first..

Welcome and Congrats!!!

You don't need to rush to pick a bridal party. Take your time and make sure you're truly gonna be happy with the people you have surround you that day.
