Congrats and welcome! Introduce yourself. How did your FH propose?! We're a really friendly group
I'd start the process by doing two things: set a tentative budget of how much you want to spend, and make a tentative guest list to see approx how many people you have.
Once you've done that, you can use that info to start looking for RHs. Your budget and guest list will help you determine which places are in your price range, which are too big/too small, which places have too high a required minimum, and which days/months might be best.
And ask us for suggestions! Give us an idea what you're looking for and we'll be happy to help!
congrats what is said above is what you should de

Congrats and welcome. The budget and the number of people are the best place to start. Also start thinking if there is anything you want in a hall...I.e. Being only bride, being on the water, etc

ITA!
Also when you do start looking at halls make sure you get every little thing in writing before and during signing. For ex. If they tell you they will give you a free ice sculpture make sure its written on your quote they give you. Cause in a week or so when you go back there is a chance they will forget that lil add on.
Also when they give you price per person have them add in the tax so you can get the real price per person. When they say 60$ pp it really mean 80$ (give or take a few bucks)
but most important, have fun with it!!! Just do everything one step at a time :)
CONGRATS AND WELCOME!!!!

Welcome!!!! Definitely the budget or an amount you'd like to pay per head and a tentative date that you'd like..then start to look online at venues and decide on aspects of the venue you want... *near water *beach *outside ceremony area * 1 wedding at a time etc.
Then start calling venues to ask if your dates available, pricing, etc.
We're herer to help!!!

Congrats and welcome!
First, take a little time to enjoy being engaged (if you haven't already). The planning process will be there but you can start thinking about a budget and also get an idea about the time of year you want to get married. I also made a tentative guest list so I could get a rough idea of how many ppl we were inviting.
If you're getting married in a Church, I'd secure that date first and then go look at RH's. Some ppl get the RH date first and then book the Church and that's fine too.
After that's all booked, I'd start looking at photo & video.

Congrats and Welcome! Definitely figure out a budget and have an idea of how large or small you want the wedding to be. Start looking for churches and RH's first.

Congrats!!!
The first thing we did was start with a budget (although it has expanded since our original discussion).

Re: new to boards/planning
Congratulations on your engagement!!
FH and I first decided on a price range we wanted to stay in while planning the wedding. We also knew exactly what date we wanted, so we then started looking at RH's and went to see if my church had our day open.
