Does any one ever go to one of the galas at the hotels or restaurants??? I would like to do something different and just trying to get a head start on some ideas.

Re: New Years Eve
I went to one at the Vanderbilt in Plainview a few years ago and it was a lot of fun. But this New Years I will be at Corinne7477's wedding! So sorry, no ideas for this year

Re: New Years Eve
I once went to one at The Coral house, it was nice, but I think it was a waste of money to spend on one night, at midnight you could not even get to a telephone, the food was good. It was very crowded. I like to go out to an early dinner and get together with friends locally. That is what we are probably going to do this New Years Eve.

What we try to do is get away to a B&B and spend the weekend skiing or relaxing. Nice to get away.

We went last year to a ball at the Intrepid museum and really liked it. Planning to go fancy somewhere again this year...
