I just joined here because I to expand my RH search. FI and exhausted our search in our area (we're from the Poconos/Lehigh Valley) area. We're just not fans of the RH in our area at all. Since I'm originally from Brooklyn and most of my family still lives here, I thought having a wedding here would be a good idea.
However, I don't know where to start.
We're looking for somewhere that is $100pp or less, either Saturday or Sunday afternoon (a Saturday night would be a treat) in either July-early November in 2013 or late April-May 2014. A waterfront location is a major plus but an outdoor location would be fine.
However, there's a few I won't have a wedding at. Not because I don't like the place but I've been to weddings there. I want our wedding to be completely unique.
So no Woodbury Country Club (BFF had her wedding there in 2010), no Windows On The Lake (cousin had his wedding there in 2006), or Douglaston Manon (brother had his wedding there in 2007).
So hello and help!

Re: Newbie bride need RH quote help
Chateau La Mer and Venetian Yatch Club are both water front locations. Both are suffolk though not sure if you wanted to come out that far. I got quoted under a 100 for March of 2013.

Try the Riviera in Massapequa...that's on the water. I've never been but heard great things from it.

Yeah I heard about CLL when I went with my friend (the one who got married at WCC) and I like the food and everything. But the ceremony space seems a little tight. Then again that was back in 2009. I'm sure things changed since then.
And we're okay with traveling to Suffolk since the PA based guests (mostly FI's family and friends) will stay overnight while my family would just crash in Brooklyn, Queens, or/and Nassau with relatives.

Re: Newbie bride need RH quote help
Hello and welcome! If you don't want to go far outside of the city, there are two locations in Bayville (on the North shore, just outside of Queens) that you might want to look into.
The WaterView Club is where I'm getting married - their prices start at about $80-$90 pp (I was able to talk them down as well, if that helps). They do ceremonies on the beach and the RH has a giant beautiful window facing the long island sound.
Also, right up the road (still in Bayville) is the Crescent Club. I didn't know it existed until after I booked The WaterView Club, so I don't have prices, but they also do weddings right on the beach as well as having their cocktail hour right on the beach.
Hope this helps! Congratulations!

I just checked the website for the Waterview Club. Looks very nice from what I'm seeing.

Re: Newbie bride need RH quote help
Fox Hollow - we're in the $80pp ballpark for an October afternoon wedding. Many room options to choose from to suit any guestlist size.
I went to Riviera for a meeting - it does have great views and cocktail hour could be outside, as well as ceremony. They gave us a cheaper quote than Fox Hollow. Could be a little tight if you do ceremony/CH/reception all inside due to weather, etc. Just hope you have wayyyy better service than when we went...and were completely ignored for 20 minutes until we were walking back out...

I had a similar experience. We walked around by ourselves for about 20 minutes until the owner came and got us. We had another reception hall to look at (which actually ended up being *the one*) an hour and a half later and were getting annoyed that they were running so late with our appointment. We were actually quoted around $90 or $95 pp (can't remember exactly) for the Sunday before Columbus Day. They told us we had to pay a Saturday night price since it was a holiday weekend.

Lessings has several different locations and reasonable. Chateau la mer is very nice and has a nice outside view and ceremony. I love the main ballroom but I believe the min is 175. Cresthollow Country club is like you are on an island but there is only a pool. They have different size rooms all beautiful. The watermill is also very nice. You should be able to get under 100 pp with these places. A saturday night maybe a different story! Good Luck!

So funny.. I had the exact same experience at the Riviera! FH and I were not happy, and they gave us a HIGHER quote than Fox Hollow. Which we thought was odd since we were booking for December!
But to the original poster... welcome and congrats. I love Fox Hollow as well. Its beautiful and has a nice charm to it.

Re: Newbie bride need RH quote help
Thanks to everyone who replied so far.
Fox Hollow looks pretty but a question to the FH Brides: what's the min. to have it in 'The Somerley' room?
I checked the Pavilion at Sunken Meadow and it says it's between $90-155 pp. Kinda bummed out. I also checked Crescent Beach Club and they said it's $250 pp Then again according to the pictures, I'm not a fan of the inside. Any idea how much is Dyker Beach CC? It's very close to my sister's home in Bay Ridge and a good 15-minute drive on the Belt from my Grandmother's home in Marine Park.

Re: Newbie bride need RH quote help
I'm not positive, but I think the minimum is 150? That was the room that caught my eye first online, but when I saw pics of the Winter Garden in the daylight I was sold - yeah, FH and I are the weird ones who want an afternoon wedding lol. There are also a ton of wedding review pics on here of nighttime in the WGP...and they almost make me sad I'll be missing out on seeing the stars at night lol. WGP is 100-165 I think.

I would recommend Venetian Yacht Club, Bridgeview Yacht Club, and Waterview Club.
