newly engaged - any suggestions for inexpensive halls?

Hi everyone!
My fiance and I just got engaged on Christmas. I'm trying my best to plan a wedding for Oct 2010. Can anybody suggest RH's that aren't too expensive...I'm looking at under $80 pp. Perhaps some all inclusive places?
Any help is greatly appreciated and good luck to all!

Douglaston Manor is Queens has a package
So does Ariana Waterfalls (I think in Hempstead or West Hempstead)

There are some other places as well

ETA: Some places are willing to come down in price if they have not booked the room as yet..just to get it booked

Try Verdis of westbury...they have a really nice package and they are really reasonable!

Congrats on your engagement!!! I am an Oct. 2010 bride as well - I looked at many RHs and to my dismay, discovered most were already booked for the weekend of 10/8, 10/9 and 10/10 (*the most popular as 10/10/10 is a great date)...Riviera of Massapequa is booked for that entire weekend as was Westbury Manor.
EDIT: I just read that your date is 10/29 so you may have better luck on that weekend...

There are many RHs that you can look at that are in the 80/pp and under price range, which include Leonards (for Fri nights its under $70/pp), Swan Club, Douglaston Manor, Manor East in Massapequa, and many more in Queens like Russo's on the Bay...Is there any specific halls you have in mind?

Hey! Thanks everyone for getting back to me! I have 10/29/10 as a tentative date but willing to change it if needed..which might just be the case :) I will check out all your suggestions. I'm looking places up right now. Know anything about Floral Terrace, Jericho Terrace, Coral House, Roma View or Chateau Briand? I'm going to check these out also.
Also, anyone heard about Brentwood Country Club? A friend mentioned they have an all inclusive package.
Thanks everybody again!! :)

Cant stress enough how amazing Swan Club was for our wedding... Definitely around your price point as well and you really get the most bang for your buck there IMO

Congrats and Welcome!!!

I have Floral Terrace for 10/2011, yet I spoke with them in regards to 10/2010 (FH and I decided to wait an extra year to save enough for the wedding and for a down payment on a house) For a Sunday night, minimum of 150 people they were asking $120-$130 pp (tax and gratuity included) for a Saturday, minimum of 200 people for about $150 pp and Friday minimum of 175 people, they were asking $120-130 pp. This includes full cocktail hour with everything including seafood and 1 full VH. The food there is delicious. They are willing to work with you depending on the menu and what time in the day you are looking to have your reception. HTH and again Congrats and Welcome to this wonderful site!!

Congrats and Welcome! I was a engaged Christmas day last year. Check out Verdi's of Westbury, Brentwood Country Club, and Leonards of Great Neck!

Floral Terrace for a day wedding depending on when you book can be around your price point. Most halls tend to give discounts when your even is closer to the date. Day wedding also have lower minimums.

Jericho Terrace- day wedding can be at your price point too. I got my price without alcohol so I guess that is the difference with the price.

Good Luck!

Try Miller Place Inn. My wedding is a Fri pm in March, a 4 hr buffet - for $39.99 pp.

If you want something more formal, it might be a bit more, but still definitely reasonable. One wedding at a time and it is elegant and warm.

Coral House is 5 min from my house- it was the first place we looked at. They are VERY AFFORDABLE, I think we got a quote for under $100/pp for a Sat night wedding.

I just recommend you visit Coral House in person. Because our wedding was small, we were assigned to a smaller room and I didn't like it very much. The pictures can be deceiving - I wasn't that impressed with the overall facilities only because I saw pictures in a brochure and thought the entrance and lobby area would be more like Leonards or Verdis....However, we had a food fasting on the spot (ask for Linda, she's the BM) and the food was absolutely delicious!! We are spending New Years at Coral House, FWIW.

Good luck!!
