I won't be much help because I did wine and a donation but along the same lines you could also do a wine bottle stopper - those are very useful.
I love getting the wine bottle stopper, you can never have enough of those!

DH and I are teachers, so everyone got a little red chiffon bag with Lindor truffles (we made them ourselves) with little apples attached. DH's mom also got us cute pencils with our names and weddding date and little bells on the end. We also make bookmarks with love quotes, which had the person's table on the back.
