Newsday announcement?

Hi - For anyone who has recently submitted their wedding pictures to Newsday for publication, does anyone know if they accepted e-mailed pictures? Or do they have to be the original photo?

I don't want to waste a good proof since I'm not sure if we'll get it back, and I don't have any good ones from the other pictures that were sent to me.

There's a separate address to request the form, but I don't have it - that's published in the LI Life section each week.

Look in the Sunday paper - the LIFE section, and you can mail in for a form. The information you submit has to be on that form. We sent our request in for a form right before our wedding and it was ready and waiting in our mailbox when we got home.

They do not return your picture. We used an amatuer shot someone took for us and sent that in. They did a nice job of cropping it for us.

They call you a few weeks before it will appear in the paper and verify all the info. They also tell you the date it will be in the paper. Ours appeared in the July 7th issue and we got married on May 11th.

I asked if I could email a proof pic
and was told they have done it in the past but dont like to b/c it goes thru too many hands and winds up getting lost so they dont like to do emails

I scanned in my picture, then printed it on photo paper on my printer and sent that in. It came out OK in my local newspaper in b/w. I hope it comes out OK in color in Newsday. Mine's appearing on November 10 (I got married on Aug 24).
