I read the column in newsday this morning and was laughing when I read it.....glad to see I am not alone! You take time to write a whole letter to a newspaper, but can't write a response??

what I find highly amusing is that the woman wrote to the newspaper about it, but couldn't write back an RSVP.

Re: Newsday article
I aksed my mom about this and she said that in her day there really were no response cards included in invitations and when they finally did come out, it was considered tacky. A handwritten response was the norm. Times have changed!

I just wonder--would this cousin NOT have responded at all to her cousin's wedding? Would she not have reached out in one way or another, be it a hand written note or even a telephone call to wish the bride and groom her best but decline the invitation? Some people's laziness drives me CRAZY!

Re: Newsday article
it's not so much the confusion that is the issue - it's her complete rudeness!! Cheap? The invite was probably engraved on linen!
