Next big project -hotels

So ladies, hope all is well...we've been busy tying up our loose ends now (thankfully), but I've come to a stand-still, in fact I'm lost. Hotel blocks.

I have no idea where to start for hotel blocks and whatnot.
We're looking for a hotel that has a shuttle, preferably in Nassau since our venue is in Glen Cove (The Metropolitan). We want just a few rooms to continue our celebration.
I also have no idea who to speak to, and what to even ask!

ANY HELP on this subject would be GREATLY appreciated!

I'm not familiar with the area but I just visited or called hotels near my venue and went from there.

We stayed at the glen cove mansion for a wedding. That might be an option.

I would ask you banquet manager. I am using the hyatt in garden city.

I don't know how close it is, but I have a room block with the Viana Hotel and Spa in Westbury and I think they provide a shuttle if a certain number of rooms are booked.

I called and asked if I could book rooms without a financial obligation (I didn't want to be stuck paying for rooms that wouldn't be used) and whether I'd be able to add to the room block, in the event that it gets full (and if so - how does that work?).

I am not familiar with the glen cove area, but there are some hotels in garden city if it is not too far. We are staying at the hampton inn in GC

Thanks everyone! It just seemed so overwhelming and I had no idea where to start.
