Next Book -- Eligible Voters List and Suggestion for Selection...

Hello all...

Well, I've just gone through all of the book discussion threads, and have come up with the following list of people (42!!) that participated in at least one of the discussions:

If you believe you participated in a discussion, and your name is not on this list, please forum mail me and I'll double check. New members, if you participate in the next discussion, you will be able to vote next month.

Now, the new plan seems to be allowing people to vote for more than one book. So, now each eligible voter will respond in a to-be-created (by me soon) thread with all books in the list that they would happily read in the next month.

I would like to suggest that we use all previously suggested books by active participants (some which were in the votes and some which were not) as our list to consider. The list will be long this month (17) but I will trim out any books that get under say 15 votes for the next round.

Here is what the list would look like:

1st to Die
Couldn't Keep It to Myself: Testimonies from Our Imprisoned Sisters
Count of Monte Crisco
Drowning Ruth
Finding Fish
Girl with Pearl Earring
Good in Bed
Handmaiden's Tale
Kindred
Pride and Prejudice
The Mists of Avalon
The Red Tent
The Secret History
The Shipping News
Watermelon
Weight of Water
When We Were Gods

Using my mighty, mighty excel skills I will keep track of everyones 'willing to read' list, and report back on the book that has the most interest. Sound good? If so, I'll get the voting thread going...

Kim, you are truly unbelievable! Thatmust have taken so much time!!! Thank you!

Kim, I totally thought your name was really Valenia!

Thank you for your very efficient effort in creating lists of book club members and potential books - and for alphabetizing them I look forward to your thread regarding our next book. And while I would never call into question your mighty, mighty excel skills, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help

JennRenee - Spring Break? Not used to seeing you here in the middle of the day. Welcome to LIW in the afternoon

Sounds good to me! And god bless you for having the patience to go thru all those threads!!!

But how will you come up with a winner if there is a tie (which is pretty likely if there are 17 choices!)

Wow -- that's a lot of work! Thank you for doing this

Sonicstef - If theres a tie, I guess we'll need to have a run off, and everyone would just vote for one. And if thats a tie, then I think I'll just flip a coin, LOL. Sound good?

So, shall I post the list with a Sunday end time for votes? (That gives two work days for the on-the-job posters, and two weekend days for those who post from home.)

Becky ~ Yes, it's Spring Break. YIPPEE!

I thought so! Keith is off this week, too. It makes going to work in the morning very much more difficult when he is rubbing it in my face that I have to work and he gets to stay in bed

thanks Kim!!! You saved the StoryBoard!!!
