Saddle Rock is supposed to be beautiful and I don't think they are too expensive.

Wherever you decide to go.....make sure you go there at night when the people upstairs or downstairs are home. Check the sound.....trust me....check the sound. Where I am now is true hell. And where I came from is true hell. Are we allowed to list where we live if its bad?

I am not sure where you are looking but Saddlerock in Sayville/Holbrook is really nice and affordable. My SIL used to live there and she loved it. They do have a waiting list though. I love my complex but it is all the way out in Port Jeff and a bit pricey but well, well worth it.

How funny. I just moved from there. I'm in Holbrook now. Absolutely hate where I am. But at the Harbour Club I had horrible people upstairs from me. The surround system they had was really good...just not at 1am. DH and I were just saying that we miss it there. There are a few 'celebs' who live there!!

Celebs at the Harbor Club? Oooh, tell me, tell me! Yeah, the guy who lives up stairs from us (30ish) has a bad habit of playing wrestlemania with his friends...literally.

I live in Fairfield Hills in Farmingville and absolutely love it. It's almost like a condo community and you can get a duplex so you don't have the problem of having people upstairs from you. Its a bit pricey but worth every penny IMO.
Saddle Rock and Spruce Pond are both also very nice and I think any fairfield complex would be good.
Drive through the complexes that you are interested in a few time during the day and night and you'll get a good feel on how your neighbors are going to be : ).
Good luck!!

Re: Nice apartment complexes in Suffolk
We're in the Fairfield Greens in Holbrook. I hear everything, including the guy upstairs from me snoring. In fact, I hear them when they get into bed. THE ACTUAL BED!! I can hear the springs popping. I want to break my lease, and I want the mgmt to come in and listen. NO ONE should have to listen to that. I want my security back. I've had such bad luck with apartments, at this point if they dont give me my money back for security I'll sue. SUE EVERYBODY...UGH lol.
We tried to get into the Farmingville one, but there was a waiting list. They are beautiful. I'm ready to just go move back in with my dad. He offered it last night after he left my apartment and heard the animals upstairs. We pay $1615. At Harbour Club it was $1750. Saddlerock is tough on credit, and since I scre*ed mine, I didn't want to be humiliated when they turned me down.
Apr....The girl from News12 that dated Billy Joel was there (limos in and out of there all the time). There's some actor guy, I have to look up his name. And an infamous person.

I think I know the infamous person you are talking about
My rent is $1450, but I know you can get a smaller 1 br (800 sq fe, no terrace, no dishwasher, pay for heat) for $1200ish.
It's expensive but so worth it. It is kept up really nice, and they are great about fixing things. They just gave us a brand new dishwasher. Ahh, the exciting things in life!

You cant beat the Harbour Club. And the convenience. All the stores, fast food. And of course 7-11!!!! I loved it there. And they are good with fixing things. God I miss it. I just didnt want to complain about the noise anymore, they just got louder. We would hear the Matrix every damn night and when the father went out, the little bas**rd used to blast rap over my daughter's bedroom.
You know of the infamous? lol

AF? I am loving the Marshalls across the St. And Babylon village is great. So many restaurants! Parking stinks, though. How were they when you complained about the noise? Wrestlemania isn't bad enough yet to complain about. Only happens maybe twice a month. But before he moved in, we saw carpet guys installing wall to wall carpet in his apt. Now I'm wondering if that's why! The people before Hulk used to fight like crazy. This isn't as bad as that...even when they have thier insanely loud playstation competitions and wrestling matches. But grown men crashing down repeatedly on the floor above you does get old.

Yes..AF. I lived 'right there'
They are cool about complaints. You have to do it in writing. But as soon as you do they act on it. And if the people upstairs are di*ks, they can get worse. If they are already ignorant, it may not help. How long have you been there? The girl in the office now is so nice. The woman before was tough and didnt take any sh** from anyone. I was on captains in the 2 bedroom. The maintenance guys are funny too. I just think its rediculous what they charge for the pool. That was my only complaint. Other than that I miss it.

Just bang back on the walls. Or with a broom. That's what we did. And door slamming is very effective as well. Eventually, they get the hint. SOmetimes just takes them a while.

Re: Nice apartment complexes in Suffolk
Yeah, the new lady is SO MUCH nicer than the last one! Ugghh, I DID NOT like her! That's so funny. Hulk is harldy home, but when he is, he blocks us in with his gigantic suburban. We are at the very end of Milligan, and it's like a little half cirlce parking situation. He never ceases to position his truck so that I have to do an 80 point turn. I told DH next time I am going to knock on his door and ask him to move. We had friends at 290 Captains, that's how we found the place. They had a 2 br with head-on view of the canal (inlet part). Paying for the pool stinks. I was gonna do it this year, but was too cheap The lady next door though, has been there for 34 yrs and is in love with DH. She's always dropping off gifts for him.
ETS: Our one yr anniversary there was July 27th of this yr. We plan on staying there until we can afford a house, or can't take the rent anymore.
