Nice place for a reception in Queens that is inexpensive
Hi everyoneAny budget concious brides out there? I'm looking for a nice place, maybe a restaurant where I can have a reception for 40pp that won't be over $50 pp. With the state of the economy right now that's all I can afford. Luckly my mom is making my cake (my avatar is one of her creations). My date falls on a Friday. I really like Caffe on the Green but don't know their prices yet. Anybody have their wedding there? Thanks.

Re: Nice place for a reception in Queens that is inexpensive
My first question is how many people? There are many resturants that you could do for that price...do you plan on having a DJ or band also? If so you need a big space....and a resturant might not cut itVerdi's in Whitestone does a beautiful job they have a nice reception room and could porba;ly work within that price range
I think Cafe on the Green would be upwards of 60pp
Roma View on Cross Bay Blvd I have heard good things about

Riccardo's by the Bridge in Astoria has prices of around $50 pp with tax and gratuity included. Verdi's was $60 pp for 3 entrees before tax and tip. I recently heard that Parkside restaurant in 108th street in Corona has a party room maybe you can check them out.

Re: Nice place for a reception in Queens that is inexpensive
Not sure how the prices are or a per person minimum but maybe check out:Douglaston Manor - Douglaston
Immaculate Conception Center - Douglaston
Antun's - Queens Village
Arturo's Restaurant - Bellerose
The White House Restaurant - Whitestone
My brother had his wedding at the Immaculate Conception Center - it is more than $50 a head for their main room, but they also have smaller rooms which we've been to parties at which cost less. The food is really good.
Also, not sure if you want to look into places in Nassau, but there's a place on the Queens/Nassau border in Floral Park called Koenig's. I know it's more than $50 per person for the upstairs banquet room where they usually do weddings (I think it costs $59 per person) , but they can also do a private room downstairs, and it'd probably be cheaper.

Oh also check out the Astoria Beer Garden in Astoria. It might sound weird, but they do weddings there and have private rooms.

I got married at Douglaston Manor.....we paid more than double the price you're looking for, but we also had their largest room. They have a few smaller rooms you can see what pricing they'll give you esp. for a Friday night they'll probably work with you.
I also recommend Roma View in Howard Beach- I went to a small wedding there in September, the room they had was downstairs but it had its own dance floor and what my DH loved the most was that there was direct access outside to go smoke so he didn't have to go up the stairs
gotta love his priorities

When I went to look at Douglaston Manor it was about double that you are budgeting for. Check out the Fleur De lis in Ridgewood. I heard it was nice inside.
Also, Check out the Coral House...they usually have decent prices. It might be a tad over your budget... but it also depends on the time of year and what room... etc. I would definately check them out. They technically aren't in Queens, I don't think... but they aren't too far away either.
