Night before the wedding (semi rant)

Night before the wedding (semi rant)

FH and I live together in a 2 bedroom apartment. We are looking for a house, but at this point, we'll still be in the apartment at the time of the wedding. His brother (one of his GM) lives OOT and always stays with us when he comes to visit - no biggie at all. Except last night I asked FH where his brother was staying the night before the wedding - and his response was 'you expect me to ask him to stay in a hotel?' - Um. . . .YES! It's not just his brother - its also his 13 year old son and his girlfriend (Plus FH's 2 sons will be staying with us that night also - of course - that makes perfect sense to me). Our wedding is in the morning, which means hair and makeup will start at about 6:30 am (not at our apartment - I have to be there by then). I really do not want a houseful of people the night before the wedding. I know I am going to be super stressed that night and just want to relax. FH said he thought it would be fun to have them there - -UUGGHH!!! I said it would be great to go out to dinner with them and hang for a while, but I'd really like to have some quiet time at home. Do you think I'm being unreasonable? I told FH that I'll go stay in a hotel the night before, but that's not really what I want to do

this exactly...or i would just say his brother can't stay with you, end story.

i'm in a bad mood today, so i'd probably even be nasty and say: apparently he'd rather I stay in a hotel than your brother. not cool.

this is a great idea. there is no reason why you should have to deal with a house full of people. if you're getting up that early anyway, might as well stay elsewhere

I really don't want to stay in a hotel, but will if I have to - my Mom passed awaya few years ago, so obviously she can't be there. My MOH has 2 small kids (my ring bearers), so not sure if that would work. One of my BMs is pregnant now and will have a 6 week old baby on the day of the wedding, so I doubt she could stay with me. One other BM could probably stay with me - I guess I'll ask her about it, but its upsetting me quite a bit right now - feeling like I'm the one that has to leave MY house the night before the wedding. Maybe I'll feel better about it after I get more used to the idea. Thanks!

Honestly just go stay at your Mom's the night before or something like that. I did that and so glad I did we didn't see each other for a day and a half before the Wedding

Dont think about it as being forced out of your house - think of it as FREEDOM! Haha! Get some of your girls together - bridesmaids or not and let them stay over with you. Have a whole slumber party. Hang out and watch movies, hit up the hotel pool or bar or just hang out alone and take a bubble bath and relax. I would KILL to get a night alone in a hotel, lol!

I am sorry I just saw this! But I think this is a great option for you! No need to fight about this or be aggrivated the morning of. just remove yourself from the situation

I know, I'm trying to get a different perspective on the situation. Right now I'm kind of upset/PO'd about it, but I am trying to see it the way you described it. Thanks!

If you want to be home relaxing in your apartment without 100 ppl the night before that is totally understandable and not unreasonable at all. Just explain to FH 'look it's what I need and thats that why complicate things the night before our wedding'....If need be I'd call your FH's girl and explain it to her and give her a heads up then she'll tell your FBIL , eliminate the men from the equation b/c sometimes they just dont get it... and all you'll hear is 'whats the big deal? ' I hate that

I would DEF go to a hotel the night before!

I'm staying at a hotel the night before...and I have the whole bridal suite to myself that night! I'm almost as excited about that as I am excited about the wedding! Enjoy it!

i think it would be much more stressfull to stay home if your FH is going to be there. Just relax and stay at the hotel ( I wouldn't mind being by myself).
