Maybe whoever is arranging the shower can add a note to the card like:


There was a girl Jodi who had her first son
She kept all his stuff in case she had more than one!
So her stroller still goes, her closests are full
She's got infant seats, onesies, and toys you can pull!

But we still wish to shower her with love, aint' that swell?
So please add an item to our 'baby wishing well'
She'll need pampers and formula, wipes and some bibs....
or maybe some nice flannel sheets for her crib.

So bring something useful, things she'll use on the way
So we'll be in her thoughts as she moves through her day!

*Maybe an excerpt from something like that...just an idea...they could also write:

In lieu of a registry to follow, please just bring along something useful for Jodi to use day to day. She wisely saved everything from blessing number one and now just needs tons of pampers and wipes!!!!

The selection of baby food in BRU is NOT extensive at all - it's mostly just the combo packs of 4 different fruits...so, that's not really a feasible solution.

I think it's a great idea to have people bring diapers and such - but, unless each person is asked to bring a different size, you could end up with boxes and boxes of newborn diapers that you may or may not use (depending upon baby's size).

One question about your son's stuff - how old is it, and does it all meet the newer safety requirements? If not, than maybe you do want to think about getting some newer 'gear.'

I love your poem Jenny!!
I would not want tons of people getting me formula because you don't know what kind you will need or want to use yet. Nor would I want baby food yet.
Maybe the women can tell people that you have sooo much stuff from your son, that a diaper/baby wishing well shower is a perfect idea. Or how about a Library Shower where people give you books for the baby.
