No bridal party?

No bridal party?

Is it ok not to have a bridal party? My FH and I are thinking of just having the two of us with our 6 month old daughter. I recently got into a huge fight with my sister, and they made it worse by calling my FH and telling them how thick headed I am. All because i was defending my daughter! I won't cave in, and i refuse to say I was wrong. Her adoped daughter was aggressive to my daughter who is six months and I HAD to defend her as a mother, as any human would have. Sooo with that said my brother in law will not be walking me down, and my sister won't be my MOH. Their son and daughter were going to be the ring bearer and the flower girl. I have six weeks to the wedding and this is what it has come down tooo!!!!! I am so over it, I am not even sad anymore. We decided to take our daughter with us to Italy whichj is now going to be amazing!!!! Sorry I had to vent, I was just so full of emotions!

It's your wedding, you can do whatever you want. Hope you enjoy your special day and don't let anyone get to you. It's about you, your FH, and your daughter.

Sorry you are going through this. I didn't have a bridal party. No bridesmaids, no MOH, no groomsmen, no best man.

I have been a bridesmaid multiple times and there is way too much drama involved. The bridesmaids hate their dress, the bride thinks the bridesmaids aren't doing enough, no one has enough time, too many opinons... such drama!!

I still had a bridal shower and bachelorette party, but not bridesmaids. I didn't regret it.

Thank you guys....I am feeling ok about this now. I just wish I had someone to go with me to the fitting, or help me with hair and make up. I have a few friends but since I had my daughter they aren't around as much. Its supposed to be a happy time and I feel like all I do is cry.

I'm not having a bridal party too. No bridesmaids, no MOH, no groomsmen, no best man. You will have a beautiful wedding. GL

Don't let it all get to you. Planning a wedding is very stressful. I hope you feel better.

I am not having a bridal party-- just MOH and Best Men-- you can do whatever you like.

I think your real concern is your relationship with your sis being strained before your wedding. Even if its swallowing your pride maybe its worth it to 'make up ' with her for your wedding so that neither one of you regret a tiff years from now that you could have avoided if you had taken the higher road.

Its worth a shot if possible.. jmo

For what its worth-- I would come with you to your dress fitting =))

Sorry to hear that.... You have the right attitude though. Move onward. You don't need a bridal party. It's your special day and it should be happy and drama free.

I am having a BM and MOH. I thought you needed witnesses???? (or at least 1)

I think you can do w/o a bridal party. If you need witnesses you can always ask your parents to be witnesses. Its your wedding and you should do what you feel is the best thing for you.

If I could start again from the time I got engaged I wouldn't have picked a bridal party. I would have just asked my brother and his wife and my sister in law and her husband. Everyone else disappointed me.

I honestly don't care if we have a bridal party. We still haven't decided but it would be easier if we didn't.

I thought I was the only one not doing a bridal party or a MOH. I just put up a post on the Brides Helping Brides forum about this b/c I'm getting married in a Church. I know they reqire 2 witnesses and I guess I was hoping that they wouldn't make me have the witnesses be part of a procession (which I don't want).

bridal party is a option not a must!

Re: No bridal party?

My MOHs are my FH's daughters. The best man is his nephew. Ring bearer is other nephew.
My friends are relieved. My sister would be a disappointment, she never has money and never dresses up. She'd never show up on time either.
It's just easier....

Weddings are stressful enough. Don't feel guilty.

I am sorry your friends aren't around to help just cuz you had a baby.
I had an instant family so I understand...

ps: Had FH not had daughters, it would be no one. Just easier...

I only had a best man, and maid of honor and flower girl and ringbearer...the less the better its your day do what you want and what makes you happy I did and I do not regret it...If people are your friends and family and they truely are they will not be offended.
