The two reception halls that I wanted to use are booked the day that I wanted them. Any suggestions as to were else to look. I am trying to have 200 pp. I tried Chaeau Briand (sp) and Flowerfield(which I really liked).

If you really liked those place, have you considered changing the day? If that's not an option, Carltun on the Park and Carlyle on the Green can accomodate that number, as well as Milleridge, Villa Lombardis and most of the hotel ballrooms.

Try the Watermill too - it is run by the same people as Chateau Briand and can definitely accomodate more than 200.

Re: No clue - reception hall was already booked
If you are planning on getting married on 9/25/04 then you will have a problem finding anyplace to get. I got engaged in October 2003 and started looking right away (we just knew we wanted it in late 2004) and there were hardly any dates available (much less a saturday). In fact when we went to fox hollow they told us they had just booked a july 2006 wedding!!!
All the other places we checkd out - North RItz, Floral Terrace, Westbury Manor and some others had about 4-5 dates at most left in 2004. Floral Terrace had one friday left, North Ritz had 5 Fridays left, Westbury Manor had 1 Friday open and Fox hollow had 1 saturday in June (cancellation) and 2 fridays left in 2004...so it might be tough if you are looking at reception halls. A wedding reception outside or at a hall that you have to cater might be the better option if you are set on that date.
Good luck!

Try the Meadow Club. ALso try the Woodlands. Since they're relatively new, they may not have every date booked up!

If you are flexable with the date you can find something. Since it is only 6 months away you can probably get a good deal also!

We're having our reception at Floral Terrace and the ballroom can accomodate over 200 people.

Are you set on that date? jannshari posted yesterday that she may be cancelling her reception at the Woodbury country club on October 10 2004. I don't know how many people it holds, but you may want to FM her.

Sorry, but I found the same thing. If you're set on that date, you are going to have to start calling places you may be interested in to see their availabilty before going to see them. It's tough to get a place in 6 months, especially when you're looking for a date during peak wedding season. If you really find a place you love, you may have to be more flexible with your date. Good luck with everything.

I was just gonna say the same thing.
Didn't someone else also recently put up a post about looking for someone to take their hall? I would do some searches ...
